>The Pentagon has launched a review of the 2021 Aukus submarine deal with the UK and Australia, throwing the security pact into doubt at a time of heightened tension with China.
>The review to determine whether the US should scrap the project is being led by Elbridge Colby, a top defence department official who previously expressed scepticism about Aukus, according to six people familiar with the matter.
>Ending the submarine and advanced technology development agreement would destroy a pillar of security co-operation between the allies. The review has triggered anxiety in London and Canberra.
>One person familiar with the review said it was unclear if Colby was acting alone or as part of a wider effort by Trump administration. โ€œSentiment seems to be that itโ€™s the former, but the lack of clarity has confused Congress, other government departments and Australia,โ€ the person said.

If the USA moves its pieces around like this, what fucking reason does anyone have to ally with the US?

Why choose alliance with a completely unreliable, narcissistic partner, when you could join up with someone who might at least pretend to care about your issues?
This is like an external reflection of the US Democratic party going out of touch with its voters.

Why the fuck are Americans so goddamn deaf, blind and stupid?

So, the story so far as I understand:
>Aussies are worried about chinks and decide that they need submarines
>Ask USA and Brits and neither were willing to build some for reasonable price
>Make deal with French for submarines
>USA decides that they want to make those submarines
>USA bribes/threatens aussies to cancel the deal with the french even though the subs were already in production (and pay massive fine for breaking the deal)
>Aussies then make deal with USA instead for submarines
>USA sits on their asses for a few years doing nothing
>And now USA cancels the submarine deal with aussies because it is unprofitable or someshit

What does the US get out of what's happening right now?

Humans are not rational creatures. While many of us do use rationality as a tool to further our irrational interests, the vast majority of humans, (~99.9%) are fundamentally irrational, and will push for ideas that might actively harm them in the context of their own irrational interests.
The Jews are not exempt from this.

The US isn't rich. It's a country whose entire econony is a pyramid scheme of a dozen company stocks half of which produce literally nothing like Meta and Alphabet. It prodyces nothing and is entirely reliant on imports from China to not instantly implode.

Yup. It is that oversized economy that allows americans to maintain their current lifestyles. In the future when that reserve status is eventually lost, americans will have to learn to cook their own dinners from beans and rice (or raw corn I guess in this case) and actually get rid of their cars in favour of public transport. Walkable cities would be really nice to have at that point, but I guess that won't happen.

Public education is not intelligence. It's the enforcement of a (propaganda) narrative onto the population.

This is specifically what the Prussian education system was built on, and is exactly what the rest of the Western world copied.

The point is not to educate, not to raise individuals into being free-thinking, considerate and wise individuals. It's to push people into aligning themselves with what the system in power wants.

>ironic that you'd bring of personal value and worth, because it sounds like you've attached your own sense of self-worth to your sense of superiority over the "sheeple" because you see the "big lie" behind it all
No. My personal sense of worth is inherently tied to competence, or rather not-being-overwhelmed. As long as I feel like I can handle the challenges thrown at me in a competent fashion, I feel myself valuable and as having worth.
On the other hand, as long as you overwhelm me and make me feel incompetent, I experience a distinct collapse in my self-evaluation.
>exposes it, you seriously think that you're some super englightened 200+ IQ individual, while in reality you're a stupid faggot with an inflated ego
No. I am a factually intelligent individual with a measured IQ at least two standard deviations above the average. Yes, I know that's not that high.
You can be upset about this, hate me for it, think I'm being arrogant or a fedora-tipper, or maybe just a liar. But this is simply what I am.
I have been through the education system on all levels, and I can without any doubt tell you that the education system is not at all a question of intelligence, wisdom, comprehension, valuation of rationality vs emotions, egotism vs truth-seeking and whatever have you.
Naturally, intelligent individuals will prosper in the education system, but it is in no way designed to support or further them.
Even the majority of universities are primarily degree mills.

Still haven't answered the question. Cheaters cheat, okay. But cheating gets caught eventually, especially if your opponent is smarter and more perceptive than you are. Sure a few of the good guys would fall behind, but the argument is literally every single person in power is compromised by the Jews; short of Hitler. From Trump and Europe, to Putin and Zelenskyy, to apparently middle eastern jihadists.

While I can understand the snowgerians and muslims, how does a small cabal of people manage to trick, confuse and outplay the white man to the point they're in control of every single seat of power.

That's limited enough most of the world will know we mean it and our waters strech far enough we would fuck any invasion before it landed.
MRMs in the centre with decent AD, some gravity / glide bombs and maybe a few long range torpedos should do it.

Using the SILEX enrichment process we invented I think we could do it all pretty cheap, most expensive part would be the MRMs.

A narcissist would be extremely unlikely to point out their own weaknesses in the way I have just done, admitting that if I don't feel capable of handling a situation, I feel despondent worthlessness.
Narcissists would instead actively seek narcissistic supply while maintaining their own conception of themselves as flawless and highly valuable individuals, being completely incapable of seeing themselves as flawed and bad, unless they were going through a narcissistic collapse. This is because narcissists have distinctly split object relations, where they can only see themselves and others as either all-valuable/all-worthless, as idealized or devalued.
They are incapable of any kind of real nuance, or maintaining a sort of "grey" perception of themselves and others.

I'm just an asshole.

The political opposition has a distinct duty to oppose the party in power, and to offer the people alternatives. This is especially strong in a two-party system like the US.

But instead the Democrats actively sabotage their own efforts and try to ruin their party.
If the Democrats were a publicly traded company instead of a political party, they'd instantly get sued and forced to shut down their efforts. But instead when they're just the other half of hegemony, somehow it's OK for them to fuck everything up?

You are grasping onto irrelevant straws. Focusing on a single tree, when the discussion is on the forest itself. A single company is irrelevant when we're discussing the entire system at hand.
>Why does Germany need America? Is Russia invading an existential threat to their country like it was in 1960?
Yes, of course it is, but not only in terms of invasion, but also in terms of the energy market. Without US influence in OPEC, Russia would have vastly more power in controlling energy revenues in Europe, as the country is the only one with both the fossil fuels and power to do so.
Without American influence in the Middle-East, Russia and China would be free to control those oil producing countries to their own benefit, against Germany.
>Or they just import it from Russia like they did for the past 20 years
Why would Russia accept this, with its imperialistic ambitions?
>How does America force Russia to sell Germany oil?
By maintaining and defending OPEC outside of Russia. If Russia, or the Soviet Union, had got its hands on all these Arab oil states instead, where would Germany go? The country is already dependent on cheap Russian fuel, so what the fuck would it do if the US didn't exist?
Even Nazi Germany was dependent on Soviet fuel.

Being emotionally detached and an asshole is not what narcissism is about.

Narcissism is about having a fundamentally unstable and black-and-white sense of self-worth, where an individual has to place significant effort to maintain their sense of value as "white," as idealized, because the only other option for them is to be "black," devalued and completely worthless, and being worthless raises deprivation/abandonment trauma and -fears from their early childhood, which are completely intolerable and unprocessable. This leads to narcissists actively and consistently having to gain narcissistic supply, having to constantly point out how valuable they are and how everyone else is completely awful and shit. They do this extremely casually, to the extent you can potentially identify them even online just by how casually and pointlessly they shit on others, for no other reason but to make themselves seem better.

This is a hegemony with the US as the nominal leader, not an alliance. We're not 'alienating' you, we're informing you of what we're doing and you're expected to comply. If you can't comply, we have to revisit the deal. Its not that complicated.

The error you made was in assuming that Australia and the US are somehow equals and that you get to do what you want on a basis of mutual negotiation when the reality is that, while you are a sovereign state and you get to decide what you do, all of your decisions have direct and measurable consequences and the consequence of not doing what we're signalling for you to do is that we stop supporting you and add you to the list of potential targets/risks in SEA rather than one of the beneficiaries when we start demolishing China.

>IF China invaded Taiwan
They can't.

>And embargoed America
They can't.

>Japan, Korea, Australia and the EU would continue trading with China
In this theoretical scenario, the US has gone into a war stance with China due to its attempt to invade Taiwan and embargo the US, so China is now cut off from world trade via the sea lanes. So this is another thing they can't do.

>As America's economy disintegrates
This is how you know its a chink who can't stop hitting the hopium. All the world's rich everywhere, including the rich in China, have their wealth wrapped up in the dollar and its dominance over world markets. They're never going to vote out their own wealth and they're never going to advocate for any system that damages their control over world markets. They can't.

The reality is that things are going to stay exactly the same as they are now and get more fake and gay every year as most people have to fight over the scraps. The same as it was last year, last decade, five decades ago. The same as it will be next year, next decade, five decades from now.

China may be deconstructed, demolished or simply coup'd, but the one thing you can count on is that the monopolar power is always going to be the money and the money is always going to revolve around the US as the monopolar power, because this system is working exactly as intended and the people running it, the international rich everywhere, are not going to throw the system out while its working as intended.

The economic alignment with China is absolutely a geopolitical move against America. Imagine West Germany in the Cold War trading more with the Soviet Union than America.

This goes even further when the US lacks the domestic industry to support itself in the event of a war so it has no ability to replace losses.

>Aussies don't like the range, so they have an open bid
>France, Germany, and Japan enter
>contract requires a retarded amount of the work, including construction, to be done in Australia
>Australia has no infrastructure or workforce for doing this
>Germans and Japanese walk due to Australians not budging on their obviously unrealistic requirements
>France jumps through hoops to modify their nuclear class into diesel electrics
>project going slowly due to aforementioned unrealistic Australian requirements
>immediately falls massively behind schedule and massively over budget once the Australians realize what they actually have to pay to build the boats in Oz instead of France
>French try and get the Australians to just buy boats made in France
>Australians throw a fit
>Australian admiral flies to London and asks if Brits will help them build nuclear boats
>UK, who needs money for their own nuclear boats, agrees to help them
>Australian government full of nuclear fanboys, despite there being zero nuclear infrastructure in Australia
>UK and Aussies have to ask the Americans due to the reactor tech
>Americans say yes
>Australians don't even bother to tell the French, who find out about it from the news
>French loose their minds since this fucks over their main Naval contractor and the government (who own 2/3rds of it)
>America doesn't care (they just want money), Australia looks like incompetents (they are), the Brits are happy (they roped their old colonial rubes in to helping pay for boats)

And yet at best 10 million people left the country, despite it would be easy for them to leave, despite having options on where to leave and so on and so forth.
So no, none of the scum would leave a collapsed murrica, because a) the shitholes which they left are still worse and b) people are way less mobile than you imagine. All of the migrants which moved into the US did so not because they wanted it, but because the US encouraged it.

>Not understanding that the world has changed in the last 50 years this hard

Anon, the market is international now and the rich are international now. When taxes rise too much in a nation, they leave. When nations get poor in resources or tech because of the brain drain, they ratchet down taxes to attract the international rich.

Its not about a system of alliances or lines on a map anymore, its about wealth transfer and the flow of money in international markets. Its not about where the factories exist or who works in them, its about the flow of money in international markets.

More importantly, its not about what Australians think, or what Americans think, or what Chinese think, because the vast majority of citizens do not have wealth in international markets and simply do not fucking matter in (Current Year).

When America needs something for its war with China, international markets will make it happen. Chinese rich won't give a shit any more than American rich or Australian rich, they can just leave and go somewhere else 5,000 miles away from the war. National loyalties and what normal citizens think stopped mattering decades ago. Its not about what happens to you, and its not about what happens to me - the rich will continue pushing the dominance of the dollar because they have control of the dollar. They'll push it into a position of dominance over China because they don't have control of the Chinese government, but they will after its forced to cede its sovereignty to the international market, which they do have control over.

In short, everything is fake and gay, and everything will stay fake and gay. The fake and gay will increase until morale improves. Things will continue to be shit for poorfags everywhere, regardless of nationality, and the deals made between nations don't really matter anymore, because the rich everywhere have become international businessmen. One country is the same as any other. Only Dollars matter.

>96% of Chinese are homeowners
My brown friend, it's actually 90% and going down in urban part of the country, and it's not something good overall. The number was inflated because owning homes represented their retirement plans, which just caused a mother of all housing bubbles, with now many of those housing developers having trillions of debt, no income and the shit they've built is literally collapsing.
And btw owning a home doesn't translate to quality of life. After the USSR kicked the bucket many of the following countries allowed people to privatize the socialized apartments they were provided for free, so on paper you have high percentage of home ownership, but in reality the quality of life sucks, those homes are in places which degraded worse than Detroit, the homes themselves are shoeboxes when compared to typical single family US homes and so on.

>Anon, the market is international now and the rich are international now
The international nature of economies was used as an argument for why WW1 and WW2 both could never happen. How do you think that worked out?
>Its not about a system of alliances or lines on a map anymore, its about wealth transfer and the flow of money in international markets. Its not about where the factories exist or who works in them, its about the flow of money in international markets.
The flow of money is entirely dependent on the actual reality of industry and wealth on the ground level. Attempts to keep money circulating with no real value underneath is called an economical bubble. It WILL burst at some point.
>Chinese rich won't give a shit any more than American rich or Australian rich, they can just leave and go somewhere else 5,000 miles away from the war. National loyalties and what normal citizens think stopped mattering decades ago.
You're acting as if China wasn't a fucking nominally communistic (national socialistic) state, where these billionaires regularly get disappeared if they go against the system of power. Shows how much you know.

It has turned large swathes of America into shithole-tier third world deserts full of browns, Anon. Pushing the dominance of the dollar does not necessarily do anything for America the geographical location or Americans the people, it simply ensures that the US Currency continues to control markets overseas. Chinese and American rich both have a vested interest in this remaining the case. Russian rich and Australian rich and British rich and French rich and German rich all have a vested interest in this remaining the case.

They're not going to give up money or curtail their profits even one inch to prevent their homelands from continuing to slide into shithole-tier. They didn't last year or last decade or fifty years ago, they're not going to next year or next decade or fifty years from now. They're simply going to continue looking after the value of the assets they own and move away from the shitholes until they die of old age. Nothing ever changes.

I really don't see how this works out in a positive way. You piss the Australians off, deny yourself naval infrastructure in the country, push them closer to China, and delete any incentive the bongs might have in the Pacific region. It's a catastrophic strategic error if the US is serious about countering China in the region.

What economic fallout? What superpowers? This entire scenario is contingent on the US abandoning its allies and thus ruining its ability to enforce any of this pressure. It's exactly why the US alienating its allies is going to end up with nuclear proliferation, because everyone with any sense in them understands they HAVE TO build nukes to stay safe.

Do you have any idea what it actually means to be a superpower?
If the US turns all isolationist and stops maintaining its alliances, while Russia is actively invading European countries and China might even go for Taiwan, there is not going to be any superpower to enforce nuclear non-proliferation. Everyone, at that point, will realize that building nuclear weapons is a fundamental requirement.

you fail to understand the fundamental value of this alliance to the US
the goal for the US is to keep the US safe and project it's influence
in the alliance framework the Europeans and others are in effect paying to keep the US safe and help it project it's influence. Just as the US pays to keep them safe and project theirs.
the moment the alliance breaks down both of them now have to pay more to get the same degree of safety and influence projection.
but it gets worse for the US.
Now the US has to face at worst one solid near or peer adversary. If NATO goes bust suddenly you'd have to account for the Europeans siding with china. So now you have to build up to deal with two near or peer adversaries at the same time.
This gains the US 0, but cost it having to pretty much double it's fleet.

But that's just the military part of it.
right now Europe is incentivized to help contain china because the more china grows the less the US can help them and the more they have to help the US.
The moment the alliance goes bust, why should they care? The chinese are a continent and two oceans away from them, they aren't a threat to them.

A review of AUKUS could've already happend earlier but it happening right after the Prime Minister and Defence Minister both gave a commitment to increasing spending the cold shoulder is a sign.

Surprsingly, this Trump administration has been consistent (for the most part) continuing Biden Era policies on the Indo-Pacific. Pete Hegseth's speech at the Shangri-la summit did reflect continuity.

Elbridge Colby, who is leading this review may be a self described AUKUS skeptic but even then says he can be open to AUKUS if it means more Submarines in the water.

I don't expect much from a review. It will probably see how AUKUS is going, if it's on track and how to make sure it's on track.

The real story is America will start putting more pressure on Australia to increase spending than ever before. Australia has always been pushed but it was never America's focus on its quest to 'fight free-loaders'. NATO is the big fish, yet when you have the NATO Secretary supporting the calls for more spending and Elbridge Colby praising NATO members like Sweden or Pete Hegseth calling Poland and the Baltic countries 'Model Allies', the same NATO allies who agree with more spending. Then pressure will be put on American Allies who haven't commited/supported that increased spending like Australia

>more Submarines in the water.
That is more or less the key point, its not any kind of stupid orange fuckery from the pedo in charge. The US needs reliable allies and it needs subs in this part of the world, it can get both here
But, you can appreciate the worry from a lot of people
>much big money
>lower on the list of priority
>anytime something you ordered takes more than 2 months to arrive must be a disaster
Just like the US and UK, our average citizen is a bit of a moron when it comes to complex issue, however I think we're in a decent place with the current politicians. They will need to spend more money on defence either way though, not just because the US asked, but also because its just needed to be done. We're pretty much the only south of the equator country that's big enough to be a regional power and not some kind of niggerfest of 3rd world corruption.

Apart from that sticking point, the movement to bring more stuff onshore, local industry development and other civil-security for power, water and so forth is heading in the right direction for proper statehood.
We need some higher degree of independence and nation building to start. Its more expensive, its often not as competitive as 'just buy it lol' globalism, but in a captive market so to speak, it can be built competitively when there's multiple manufacturers available for contracts.
>Will those have problems?
Sure, but so does everything more complicated than stacking bricks, if it didn't have any problems you'd worry someone was hiding shit

If you think it's bad now, wait till you start building one. The first in class of every submarine always has huge problems, and since it will mostly be a workforce that is not experienced with the special requirements in a shipyard that was designed in a whiteroom for the "expected" needs of the most complex thing any shipyard can ever build, those problems are going to be magnified.

>Submarines in the water.
ok but but 500 nuclear american subs in the water that launch from mainland america or Hawaii is worth less(strategically) than 5 australian nuclear submarines based in australia
and also building up multiple ports that are capable of refueling and maintaining nuclear subs.
australia has always and (probably even after being treated like actual shit by the trump admin) will always answer the call to fight any war america wants them to, no questions asked.
so to fuck australia over this much is insane.
america is only hurting itself.

Far as I know they where not going to be built here, we might have learned our lesson with the Collin's Class which took about 20 years of shakedown to finally work the kinks out
Australia was giving the US money to fix up its shipbuilding industry that had been lying out of the water gasping for decades as well before someone figured, better kick the cunt back in the water, its almost dead.

A lot of this stuff is also in talks right now so, we'll see

There is constant re-valuation going on as economic and industrial structures, competencies etc. poop themselves across the globe. The US nuclear submarine industrial/military competency is large and unusual and its quite possible it was undervalued by AUKUS agreements given the current context, even if those agreements were only a couple of years ago. Have to pay more, get less, sorry.

I think there was 2 boats on offer, after that Australia's offer was some slips here capable of servicing and doing provender work. So either in Perth or Adelaide being the most-likely places for that and as best I can tell, that's a pretty good offer on the table as the Virginia's seemed to get a lot of criticism for being in port waiting to get sorted out more often than they're at sea- as the US industry was going fallow and not capable of doing all of them in any reasonable time period.
Big ticket, non-serviceable items in Aus like reactors and other stuff would still be done in the US

Its expensive but otherwise a fairly reasonable solution for all 3 parties if the poms want their subs down here as well 'just doing stuff' at any point in the future

$5mil buys you citizenship now, which for a large amount of extremely scurrilous people, black, brown and otherwise kind of not white- is not a lot of money
Like there's probably quite a lot of south americans that have that kind of cash around after selling cocaine for a few years, a lot of jeets will have it because they never pay taxes and plenty of the middle east can hop on the US train.

I don't know if there's any security checks, the US congress doesn't know what to do about it. Which given their performance is probably not a shock to anyone

I dunno why they went the way they did.
There are some practical and much cheaper alternatives to what they proposed which could have been viable, quick and are pretty much turnkey solutions. Then the whole thing ended up like two monkeys trying to fuck a football at the same time, like why was it so expensive, take decades and this is in an environment where its not a popular solution? There is room for some nuke power here, but not at the price, timeline and way they proposed it and it can quite happily co-exist next to other diverse sources of power.
Nothing wrong with a nuke and some solar farms

i think its worth it to have 1 and run it at a loss just to be able to grow a small but capable nuclear industry, because at least you can grow from there.
currently if we NEED to grow or have that expertise then we are fucked.

Souryuu/Taigei have large crews, but are relatively small on the inside, meaning cramped quarters. This isn't a problem for the nips, since they're accustomed to having tiny-ass homes, plus the patrols are short, but it's 100% a problem for the aussies. Type 214 had the opposite issue: too little crew, leading to overwork. Shortfin Barracuda was the "not too hot, not too cold" option.
