The numbers are a bit misleading because:

1. Culmulative Daily losses - ie someone can be wounded and captured multiple times.
2. Russians used ethnic Ukrainians, foreign mercs, and others as much as possible in the worst fighting to take most of the casualties.
3. They heavily used and depleted convict units with extremely high losses.
4. They still deploy "sheep and wolves" tactics, which take high casualties but are meant to protect their professional soldiers as much as possible.
