The G19 is the most popular concealed carry gun, regardless of position, and a 4" barrel is plenty for getting the required performance out of any quality JHP loading. Plus, it's easy as fuck to slap a Beretta 92 with an X300 in an appendix holster, if you want a full size gun.

I only see fatasses carrying in that backasswards position. It's slower, less concealing, and is more of a pain to draw from when seated.

I find appendix carry uncomfortable. I just don't wear my pants high enough or low enough for it to work. I like to carry at 4 o'clock.

The only issues with appendix is drawing while seated and drawing while in a scuffle. 3-4 o clock allows you to angle yourself to put your gun the furthest away from the assailant while appendix puts it in the way. This can be countered by carrying a knife in addition to a gun, where you just fucking stab them instead.

Appendix is BETTER for drawing in a scuffle. Putting it at 3-4 clock makes it harder to draw if you're in a non-ideal position ex. pinned against a wall or taken to the ground. Appendix puts it in front of you .

Clearly you've never worn a shoulder holster. They're not very comfortable or concealable. IWB hip carry at 5:00 is generally the most comfortable, but the gun tends to print badly if you bend over or while sitting. Appendix carry is not very comfortable, but it is tolerable, and it's far more concealable than any other method. It's also easier to conceal larger guns or a gun plus a spare mag. You can't bend forward very far, but the upside is it doesn't print with any normal movement, the draw is fast, and you can easily conceal with just a normal t-shirt.

Tried this the other day. It fucking rocks for my situation.

I’m an active dad that runs and plays with my small kids. I don’t need a sub-second draw because I’m not rubbing shoulders with crack addicts every day. I just need a tool on my body in case one wanders onto the playground. Hell. I can have my finger on the trigger without even drawing, I don't even need to draw to shoot, while I just look like a dude fingering a can of pepperspray to the moms around me. The fact that I can load snacks & sunscreen alongside my 8” CZ 75 is a tiny cherry on top.

It’s not for everyone. It’s not for every situation. But it is 100% dad approved.

As a fat guy (6'4/260) I love appendix carry.
My gut completely presses up against my pistol, but I don't really care if I'm printing anyways one way or the other. I like XX or XXXL shirts anyways.
Switching from 3:30/4 o'clock IWB to AIWB and I've watched my double tap from concealment go from about a 2.30/2.70 to a 1.45/1.80 on a timer.
Night and day difference in draw time.
