I have one but I’m considering switching to an after market grip that has the magazine release moved up. at least on mine the magazine release on the bottom is really difficult to manipulate quickly. it’s too bad the best aftermarket grip is Russian and impossible to get now because of sanctions.

What is this strange near century long obsession with shitting on the Makarov? Other soviet guns don't get this kind of hate. The Makarov is more akin to guns that shoot 32 ACP, but popular culture and especially video games try to compare it to full handgun cartirdges like the 45, 9, and imply it's woefully.

It's an emergency pocket pistol for Soviet officers if they need to suddenly defend themselves from someone like unruly soldiers, or have to carry out an on the spot summary execution. It did it's job well.
