HSM does. The HSM product code is BER-65Rem140VLD. It sells out fairly fast, but they do make it.

There are several custom loader who will load a box for you, too. Typically at $4-$5 per round - cheaper if you provide your own brass. Quality Cartridge makes 6.5 Rem Mag brass every so often, but you can make your own by necking down 7mm Rem Mag brass.

Of course, if you have the ability to neck down brass you can just load your own cartridges.

This might be on the edge of the definition of "rifle cart" since these were for ball-and-shot guns--basically shotguns with rifled chokes, but I always thought the Westley Richards Explora and Fauneta were cool. The projectiles are actually fairly light slugs with big hollow points, the cones you can see sicking out front are very thin sheetmetal aerodynamic caps.

Winchester seemed to have been unknowingly thinking ahead when they designed it: the long neck (originally designed for protecting lube grooves in lead bullets) offers plenty of extra room for heavy bullets.

It was never even a military catridge neither is it an accuracy cartridge. It has no footprint outside North America at all. There are some great American cartridges like 270 but 30-30 is none of them and barely exists out side of the US

9.3x74 would be an ideal north American game cartridge, really you can take any game on any continent with it, provided you have proper loads. I guess it goes back to Americans being late to the bolt action party, and big-bore lever guns were dominant by the time European big game rifles started showing up here. I like my Husqvarna, it shoots well and never fails to put deer/elk/bear/boar down cleanly. Maybe some day I'll get to go on safari. I really want kudu and wildebeest trophies.

Correct. Really, the interest in it in America is nothing but nostaliga. People like it because it's what their granddad used to go hunt with, and they likely still have Granddad's old rifle too.

Personally I see zero reason to buy a new rifle in that caliber. There are better cartridges available these days, the only reason to use it is for historical appreciation, and if you're going to do that why not shoot a vintage rifle, there's millions of them out there, they're not expensive or hard to find.

I don't want to shoot 308 out of a 5lb short hunting rifle. I don't even know any guns that shoot 308 and are 5lbs. 30-30 is a perfect size and it's a common diameter. In a single shot you avoid the flat nose pitfall and get significantly better performance. It is small enough to fit even in a Contender.

If only in a Savage M99 takedown, but honestly, a Ruger M77/17 would be better. What IS chambered for it?

If itโ€™s gone within a week Iโ€™ll stop collecting milslop.
They had a M27 for about the same too. Both were labeled incorrectly.

I have the Ruger m77/17 hornet. Ruger is supposed to be making a new one with a shorter threaded barrel. started with a 3x9 optic, then went to a 4x14, and now run a 5x25. shooting ground squirls at 300 yard is so much fun with this thing. If it is a windy day I'll use 20 grain projectiles but usually prefer the 15.5 as they have a boat tail.

huge fan of the 17 hmr. The hornet has impressive range for what it is. I also love being able to reload for it. I originally wanted to get a .22 hornet because i shot my dad's a lot as a kid and loved it. The 17 hornet came out the same year I started looking for the .22. i couldn't resist and it quickly became my favorite varmint gun. For years it was my truck gun while in Idaho and Nevada.

A very reassuring endorsement! But I think my stable is full up on varmint carts, 2 .218BEE, 1 .22WRM, 1 .17HMR, 1 5.7x28 and a current obsession for a .22TCM, which will likely remain unfulfilled.

nah, .22 mag is a super niche cartridge. It's too expensive for plinking, and there's a very narrow range of applications where you need more power than .22LR but simultaneously don't want as much power as a 22 Hornet or bigger.

Like my Winchester M9422M. Wouldn't have it any other way.

The rare cartridge with an even rarer stripper clip. But such a good rifle.
