My first gun was this NPAP downfolder, and it’s still one of my best. Only down side is that these didn’t come with the side rail for optic mounting. I’ve been wanting to get more into distance shooting but not exactly thrilled about spending as much money as I would have to for a .308, so I’m thinking of upgrading to a new ZPAP M70. Just love the Yugo AKs, can’t explain it. Just think they’re neat.

Has anyone had experience with optics on the ZPAPs? Looking for more tube amplification as opposed to the dinky red dots, but unsure if it’s even worth the effort.

That, and, I honestly love the down fold stock. Unsure if I’d end up selling my NPAP or just having both, so then I’m unsure if i want a solid stock for a ZPAP to diversify or just get a down folder to make sure I have something I know I like.

Thoughts? Would love to see some builds, don’t have to be yugos necessarily

I like my zpap 92 a lot. I'm sure the optics mount isn't great, but I don't ever really shoot over 100yds with it.

Yeah the 92’s are definitely interesting. Wasn’t sure how the whole “SBR ready but has a can on till you get to that point” situation works. How was your experience? Did you mount the stock on yourself or was that a factory option?

308 AK, not a Yugo but a Saiga 308 with a partial conversion. Still need to get the barrel threaded but I'm keeping the length long rather than chopping it down like some people do.
As for what you should do, I'd suggest saving and getting an M77 and getting all the clone correct furniture for it.

Depending how far you want to go with collecting, you can still get the even rarer M76. It's gonna be less of a frequent shooter though by nature of it being in 8mm Mauser.
Picrel is an M76

>7.62x39 for distance shooting
lol
lmao
the bullet drop on 7.62 is significant enough its basically useless past 300m, theres no point to have anything stronger than a 3x prism on an AK
the m77 shoots either 7.62x51 or 308 and it is going to be significantly better for long range
the other thing is the advantage of an underfolder is that it can get very compact, throwing an optic on it makes it loses that versatility
