>>63843365English isn't so immune to change that it can't adapt or accept new words or spellings. Shakespeare didn't even write his name the exact same way. The concept of standardised spelling is a relatively new one. You only hold to your current spelling ruleset because it's easier to communicate if everyone works from the same rules.
Kyiv isnt really breaking those rules, if anything it more accurately describes how the locals call it in their accents, kuhyeev, rather than what most people assume is kee-ev.
Neither is Djinn breaking any rules, it simple has a wider use, blame disney for "ruining" genie by accurately portraying fairytales for children as childish. It's a consequence of Muslims learning English though but that's fine it's not like it matters.
I've never even heard of firenze however till today, and Tuscany isn't brought up often enough for anyone to remember either really.
They only one I don't accept is Turkiye (Idk which ลท or ฤ) because it doesn't follow general no accent English rules at all, so while the Turks can call themselves that in their language, it will always be Turkey since that's what it sounds like more simply without weird stresses on the letters to imply.
Being realistic though, I doubt you could even read Middle English let alone Old English, but if you truly cared about "English" that is unwilling to adapt you would revert back to those.
