Cool story, the steel itself in a lot of Pakistani knives from the 90s is actually of high quality, but they do not know how/have facilities to treat and finish it. The steel is good because the paki company Bud-K partnered with had bought millions of tons of steel from a Kuwaiti shipbreaker that was dismantling cold-war era European ships. So the steel was great, but everything done to it was wrong to the point of ruining it.
