Budanov made a few comments about them in a interview, mostly what you would expect but there was one thing that really stuck out:

>We have data that the Russian Federation was provided 120 pieces. But I think that supply will continue because these guns are demonstrating themselves quite well.
>Unfortunately, this gun is demonstrating itself quite well in battle. It’s firing from quite a long range, and it’s quite good in terms of accuracy.
>quite good in terms of accuracy.

The range was expected but accuracy? Wtf is going on here?

Compared to the average russian artillery (WWII tech with worn barrel) it's ok. Not surprising and they aren't using it with RAP, that's why it's getting droned.

I don't care what anyone says the Koksan and the 2S7 Pion are cool as fuck and I am sad that there is no Western equivalent. Yes, yes, I know. Not survivable, questionable effectiveness and all that. It's just cool. German WW1 siege-gun energy.

Seeing as he also praises it's range it seems they are using ER rounds.

>droned
Of the handful of hits we have seen half were drone drops, they tanked them. The other half was what looks like a HIMARs hit that hit near three after they had relocated, there were no secondary explosions and they didn't show aftermath so those probably survived as well.

They are hunting them though.

If Ukrainians counted more "destroyed artillery systems" than russia originally had it's because most open pieces aren't visually damaged even if they aren't functional after being impacted. A broken howitzer is the best decoy, a damaged howitzer can be repaired or used as donor.
And as far as I remember the koksan chassis seems pretty flammable...
>inb4 open SPG are better
no if you don't want to lose your people and get the breech/barrel damaged, propellant storage needs a major rework (even for modern western SPG/SPH)

Some nations still use american 203mm guns and SPGs, the turks having the biggest fleet followed by Greece (lol) and the pakis

The one clip we have of a Koksan related fire was a tow vehicle not the gun itself. Every shot we have of one getting hit it visibly tanks the shot or the observation drone mysteriously cuts out without us being able to see the result.

That that sort of editing rightfully gets mocked when Russians do it but Ukraine would never do itt right? Otherwise you are correct about Russian artillery loses.

>they tanked them
they have no ammo inside of it, unlike other SPGs. Just because they didn't explode spectacularly doesn't mean it "tanked" anything. It's not PzH

>e was a tow vehicle not the gun itself.
The video I mention shows the chassis of the SPGç, not the trailer or ammo tractor, burning pretty well after one impact.
Fuck off.

Koksan is literally just few sheets of steel. Who is this fucking retard who think we're so fucking stupid to believe that small sheet of Korean steel can beat a drone?

this is it. Russians are just using new gear for the first time in their lives and having their minds blown when it actually works

The range of the Koksan is high by default given the size and muzzle velocity of the gun. To assume they are using ER rounds based on it having long range doesn't really make sense any more than assuming 2S7s are mostly using ER rounds because they have long range

Claiming that the guns are "tanking the shot" makes no real sense, they are usually hit in the breech/barrel area with an FPV so there is nothing to show significant damage without being up close to look. They may tank the hits or they may not, but to claim that videos of them getting hit shows that they are fine is unsubstantiated

Any fucking drainage pipe that has a round fired out of it is going to be more accurate than a 1950s produced soviet barrel you fucking thirdie retard mongoloid. How can you be so mentally deficient that you can't recognize that a newly produced barrel will be way more accurate than an old worn one?

I am simply pointing out that besides the one that burned up while being towed there is a conspicuous lack of aftermath footage.

The first shot was a VOG bouncing off the barrel, that ain't doing shit.

>>63852293
Wait, are you actually calling Budanov a zigger? Are you on crack?

>>63852333
No one is saying that and i am sure some have been destroyed, as mentioned above a couple of clips clearly show VOGs bouncing off them. We had a whole thread about it involving a Kraken drone operator and myself talking about how to best target them, namely the hydraulic unit behind the cab that the first drop would have hit if the barrel wasn't in the way.

>>63852348
Probably because they are on MBT chassis, because we have seen drone drops bounce off of them and WE HAD ONE OF THE GUYS WHO DID THE DROP SAY SO IN A THREAD.

>>63852467
That is correct that we don't know the extent of the damage, however the footage always cuts out and in a few of them you can see several frames where the thermal bloom from the camera clears and there is no noticeable damage.

>>63852495
And yet here is the Head of Military Intelligence for Ukraine disagreeing with you. Is he a mentally deficient fucking thirdie retard mongoloid?

As to accusations of ziggerdom, you know who i am, search the archives. There is a whole thread where me and a Kraken drone operator discuss how they differ from Soviet SP guns and how to destroy them in a way that will make them burn, specifically where the main hydraulic unit is and what to drop on it.

Why is the koksan so good?
Well the 17cm barrel helps its a great in between more powerful than 152mm and more accurate and quicker than 203mm
Nork machining is not bad either, they are skilled asians after all
And its on a MBT chassis so it’s protected
Koksan is probably immune to drones but very susceptible to himars since its tracked it will be slow to shoot and scoot
