Not if they require a simple 4473. I don't know why they can do it now, maybe because getting a stamp is considered an exhaustive enough check to bypass regulations requiring an FFL performing a transfer.

No. It would be removing suppressors from the NFA making them unregulated, nothing to do with how firearms are handled.

Getting the stamp means the background check cleared. When you go pick up a can, they don't run another NICS before disposition.

Some states allow for direct shipping at that point.

Anonymous No.63869438 [Report]

>Wait.... If you can ship cans to your door...
The "If" here depends 100% on the exact, specific letter of law that ultimate gets through (if it does, right now afaik the outlook is not good). If suppressors were simply removed as "firearms" entirely (which makes sense, they aren't firearms they're muzzle devices), then they could be shipped to your door the same way a muzzle brake or VFG or any other accessory could be. But it'd have absolutely zero implication for guns, it just wouldn't legally be one anymore.

If they instead changed it so it's still a "firearm" but no longer title 2, now you have to buy it via FFL and 4473 same as a gun, but no more NFA process. In that case no, you couldn't get them shipped to your door.

CA has some sort of special thing setup under the current system. It might be that they lose that ability under a new one, or that everyone gains it under the new one. It's still up in the air.

You still fill out the 4473, they just skip the NICS. The 4473 acts as a record of transfer from the FFL's A&D logs, at the very least.
Anonymous No.63869679 [Report]
If they become entirely unregulated just order solvent traps from china, or stick a wix filter on the end of your gun. Rubber wipes are insanely effective and cost nothing also. There's no actual reason for suppressors to be super durable devices that last for thousands of rounds or have super competitive signature reduction, the NFA has just morphed them into that because people dont want to pay a tax stamp and wait out the period for a disposable device.

If they become 4473 items same thing, you'll probably just fill out of a form for a thread adapter/hub and then screw on a disposable chinese solvent trap/filter
Anonymous No.63869686 [Report]
>>63869672
Addendum*: no 4473 is required if it is a private sale of a NFA item, but a Form 4 is still required (as of now, before the HPA passes).
t. has legally bought several full autos from private sellers in the same state. You have to paper file the form 4 though, which sucks.

not either previous anon, but yeah that sounds totally worth it. Pricey but actually justified. Unless you just got super lucky though it also sounds like you're in a place with a decent amount of competition (not necessarily just from ranges but also outdoors). While sometimes you simply win the lottery with a range that really has developed a good culture and cares, ime in shitty states ranges average worse because they know they can be lazier since people have nowhere else to go. I think even for range enjoyers it's helpful to have competition.

>They also aggressively harass and prosecute anybody that comes on the land, winter or not.
What pisses me off even more is how they ALSO have long been trying already to section off public land as their own private fiefs too. Lots of the western land is a tile grid, with alternating squares of private and public land. A richfag buys up the private squares surrounding a prime public one, then they try to keep anyone from actually accessing the public one, claiming you have to cross their land to do it and thus it's trespassing. Then they use the public land, even though it's still legally public, just for themselves and their friends.

There's been some legal setbacks on that though last few years, judges starting to be willing to stand up and say "yeah people can corner cross". I guess this fucking bill would "fix" that issue for them though by just formally letting them annex it all for pennies on the dollar.

That's literally what the Capitol Armory process does. They process the Form 4 and 4473 through a local dealer in your state and ship the firearm to your door. Everything is done remotely.

I do not actually understand how or why ATF considers this acceptable to allow a 4473 to be filled out remotely for a silencer, but not a firearm or if they would also allow it for firearms, but no one has really tried it yet. It appears to require a local CLEO notification and waiting period for the 4473 transfer in addition to the actual NFA notification.

>reminder that /k/ mods are antigun and will delete any thread discussing gun laws
This definitely isn't strictly true, some threads stay up. And the rules are inconsistently enforced, probably somewhat down to what individual mod/janny sees a thread or not. Some of it has to do too though with nature of the thread, and whether it's getting spammed. Gun laws matter, but can also turn into really bad shit throwing fests even by /k/ standards. So if a thread stays more down to earth and decent tends to stay up more, same if it is more focused on direct effects on /k/ommando lives and direct actions we can take. Ie, tons of gun law threads that are about
>what specific guns can I buy that would be most interesting given my legal situation
are always fine. Stuff about
>this specific ruling or potential law change is ongoing right now and changes the situation of anons in xyz ways, and/or you can take abc action
has ok odds of not being baleeted. Threads that get spammed or turn into /pol/fests, it varies.

In Colorado, for example, the organization highlights vast swaths of the Roosevelt National Forest, the Arapaho National Forest, and the Pike National Forest—just to name few. In New Mexico, it shows a massive chunk of the Carson National Forest south of Taos. In Idaho, the Clearwater National Forest, the Coeur d'Alene National Forest, the Payette National Forest, and the Boise National Forest are all on the chopping block, per the Wilderness Society Map.

>In Wyoming the maps feautures a huge section of the Teton National Forest, and there are big tracts of USFS land throughout the Pacific Northwest and in California. In Alaska, it includes large tracts within the Chugach and Tongass National Forests along with sprawling blocks of BLM further north.

Then why do you treat it like a dump? Giving something to someone for free is a surefire way for that thing to be destroyed. The same is doubly true for land. They should charge to enter BLM land at a minimum. Ideally they would lease it out in chunks for exclusive use maybe in 5 or 10 year intervals.
