There are virtually no security measures for airforce base defence from local actors with drone access. The Taliban were able to ride right up to a base in Afghanistan and blow up some harriers after all if you recall.
The only security you have is explosives and drones being difficult to smuggle onto the country, the bases are 100% vulnerable to spiderweb and infiltration style attacks.

Unless they're in the middle of a desert and can have spotters and checkpoints they are in a vulnerable location, in those scenarios they can be looking out for miles to make on foot breach near impossible, but even then you can now get 30km range AI targetting glide style drones, which no western airforce base is currently able to defend against if attacked even in low numbers.

There is not a laser defence on every American AFB, and they wont always be effective as they will have blidn spots and be useless during rain or heavy fog, face the facts here.

The first three links I provided were the base with Airforce 1 by the way.

The point of war is to minimise risk, you CANNOT minimise all risk, you are vulnerable everywhere, this is what security and war planning is for.

In any case, Drone attacks are functionally nearly identical to someone setting up a mortar or light artillery from a security perspective. Perhaps just a little more difficult to trace after the fact, but more susceptibe to electronic warfare.

In wartime, in theory security doesn't end at the perimiter as readily, resourcing is increased and the manpower resource is more incentivised to vigilance due to not being on the tail end of 20 years of motonony where fuck all has happened.

Trying to conflate sleepy peacetime protestor infiltration with losing double figures of heavy airframes to an enemy attack due to inadequate internal and airfield security during a war of aggression is just bad faith my brown or snowbrown friend.

Russia failed in particular because their bases are also remote and thus more securable, but the reality is they were still staioned near main regional arterial roads against an unprecedented threat of mass automated drone attacks within its own borders. It is hillarious to laugh at, but also that does not make the threat somehow lesser when it comes to our own defences.
The only precedent of mass drone infiltration to spiderweb was Ukrainian drone laden boats in Crimean waters and human infiltration such as various bombings, that suicide truck against Kerch etc. Maybe you could include the mass drone attacks flown at them from Ukraine but they had early warning for a lot of those and could take off early.

I have provided you with examples of civlian infiltration into US bases, drones overflying US bases and military ships in US waters, of which there have been hundreds of instances in the last 5 years.
It's a problem that has been pretty prevalent within the US that we have been talking about for years now, arguably a new paradigm of subterfuge and sabotage of infrastructure that nobody is fully ready for.
No amount of EW will stop a foreign agent from deploying a new type of drone that bypasses it, in particular in Ukraine there is functionally a 2week to a month turnaround for new drones that bypass current frontline jamming. Bases are not going to be updated nearly as frequently, and with the prevalence of modern drones with target recognition capabilities jamming is just not good enough anyway.

tl;dr - until GWOT the UK had not really had to secure airfields in (even potentially) hostile territory since WW2. That's long enough that standards start to slip and people stop giving a shit. UK Civilian Airports all have nice and spiffy private security contracts, almost entirely with Serco and its subsidiaries. If you're not familiar with them then Serco are the 'Private Security Contractor' that has a 'long-standing and multifaceted relationship with the UK government' (and therefore presumably has suicide or 'suicide' tier dirt on everybody who's anybody in UK politics).

Security of UK military bases usually falls under MPGS (Army) or MOD Police or a 3rd party contractor. They are supplemented by on base personal working on the front gates and some areas too. The RAF Regiment dont routinely do airbase security in the UK unless they have been specifically tasked to do it.
