I keep thinking about how the US military could have easily been swayed into the .280 british or some other .25-28 caliber instead of going full steam ahead with 7.62 nato.

Imagine if instead of AR15s the AR10 got selected for limited military use and then broader issue and then continually refined over 10 years in vietnam. Imagine macvsog running around with 12" suppressed AR10s. This platform had just as much potential as the AR15 but never got any attention until the 90s when Armalite's successor just gave it copy pasted M16A2 upgrades.

I really want to see the alternative future where the AR10 gets all the same notoriety and modularity as the AR15

both the P90 and MP7 have their pros and cons with the latter being the better overall chambering and weapon.
What's truly pathetic and ought not exist is the 5.7 boiiiiiiiiiss that spend thousands of dollars on SBR semiauto replicas, and the 5.7 5-inch barrel handguns are pretty useless (same as the 4.6 OP picrel)
