Not sure if they have armaments capable of making full use like the original.
If they had them off then popped them on and got close enough to see a modern jet and got a lucky kill it would be a huge propaganda win.
Properly retrofitted they could relay the location of aircraft while staying at range and allowing more plentiful aircraft to see the enemy they normaly couldn't.
They could be a threat. It is all about adjusting their role to suit the battlefield.
Destroying them prevents iran from figuring out how they can still be effective and against what.
They were designed to destroy other jets, while most modern fighters are designed as multirole and sacrifice some of that capability.
Obviously the f22 would destroy them, and the f35 would usualy win but could get unlucky in a strategic trap. F16s and f15s that Israel relies on may be quite vulnerable though.
