Not that weird, but I did have a .223 split case in my AR-15. It split down the side of the case like a lightning bolt and blew a bunch of un-burnt powder into the action. Bullet didn't squib, thankfully. Still have the casing as souvenir. I'll have to find it and take a picture to upload.

MY DUDE! Fucking made my night. I go to an indoor range rather often, and have a mild obsession with big bore revolvers for fun. Can’t wait to see what kind of looks I get when I set up one of these and start shooting 454 casull at it out of a snubnose. Fuck yeah

Here it is. The funniest thing is that this is not some cheap ammo. It's the cream of the crop for .223 ammo. Federal 69gr Gold Medal Match using Matchkings. Most accurate off the shelf .223 ammo I've ever found.

I had a .22lr case from the guy next to me go into my SMLE magazine simultaneously as I pushed the rounds off the charger into the magazine.

Interesting, it's crazy rare for have modern ammo have a failure at the case head like that. It's also lucky there was no harm done, case head failures are very dangerous.

Glad you lucked out on nothing serious, like >>63879072 says rare as fuck and also potentially dangerous. Guess it's one of those wild one-a-million chances that does indeed happen to one dude in a million once in awhile. Hope you took that picture and sent it to Federal, but because it's anything malicious per se but might score a free box or something out of it.
Could be at one of those 'rental ranges' where noguns go. Like the big range in Las Vegas, where the M134 is mounted in such a way that you can only wiggle it a scant degree left or right. Keeps the idiots from flagging anyone else, or from stealing.
I dunno, just a guess. Seems excessively complicated for any other reason.

Weirdest thing I've had happen >shoot 5 rounds at 50 yards offhand >pretty big spread >shoot another 5 rounds >wtf I completely missed the target? >go down range >second set of rounds had the exact same spread. 5 pairs of overlapped holes.

I ripped toilet paper out of a roll that was standing on the area above it and somehow a single piece of paper flew out of the roll and horizontically got stuck directly between the two toilet flush buttons.

The good ones. I used to go to one that would allow you to do just about anything BUT every hit into the ceiling or the pillars would COST you.

Lower abdomen on that rabbit is all guts; even if you hit the spine it's still kicking with the rear and steering with the front paws. Headshots, please, when it comes to varmints.
