The last war the US fought itself was the first Iraq invasion in the early 90s. And that was just them taking all their Cold War build up and rolling it over Iraq.

From then on every war the US fought it used other countries to do it, swooped in at the end when they're already weak.

Balkan wars US funded jihadis to weaken governments, then bombed from distance.
Same playbook for a dozen middle east countries.
Same playbook for Ukraine.

Russia on the other hand fights wars itself, and when the enemy is at its strongest (proxy war with the US, EU... even China, Pakistan, etc).

No doubt US fights "smarter" but it might just because their military capability is declining and can't fight their own wars.

On the one hand, I never bought into the astroturfed 2010s hype built around Russia and their magical cyberwarfare that would just turn every AMERIKKKAN system off at the push of a button or their S-400 / T-14 / Su-57 / Sarmat / Terminator wunderwaffen, or their gachimuchi tier VDV promos.
Had many a heated argument on this very board with slavaboos on these topics, because I kept insisting Russia is a local power that tries to keep up the appearances of a superpower.

On the other hand, I very much expected them to be able to steamroll Ukraine in the event of an invasion, and didn't expect the hot phase of the war to last more than a couple of weeks.
NOTHING could have prepared me for how much of a wet fart Russia turned out to be. Forget local power, at this rate they aren't even a credible threat to fucking Poland.
