>>63887170It's even worse than that. It's a perfect trifecta of:
1. Engineering degradation overall (it's happening everywhere in the world, not just in german automotive bullshit), you literally have retards doing retarded things because no experience, because gay zoomers and browns are designing cars who aren't even driving them, etc. As a part of this a big reliance on catalogue specs of things, i.e. the polymer in catalog is stated to resist temperature and oil/gas, so it's used, but IRL it's not actually able to resist it (either because the catalog is bullshit or because the chink suppliers bullshit the polymer, whatever), so it fails and fucks up a ton of other stuff. Also the use of CAD and VR crap fucks up things, since people don't really take into account how things work in real life while they can view everything from every angle in a virtual environment, while IRL it becomes a fuckin' mess. Older engineers would easily avoid a ton of issues like this just based on experience and such.
2. Management/marketing driven design. People don't buy a product, people buy a "lifestyle" which that product represents. Half of the reason is because women are buying crap using their man's income kek. At best people compare shit in a spec shit (where things are lied, but they feel like they've made an informed decision) and don't actually value things like reliability, repairability and so on. And now on top of that a manager decides how things are made, even when it's retarded and doesn't make sense. This is how we get that Audi V8 with their chains placed on internal (closer to the firewall) side for example. Being beancounters is also part and parcel of management driven design. Save a penny, fuck up a pound.
