It’s kind of complicated, but the short version is that the bill that SHORT and HPA are attached to is a budget bill. Budget bills only require a simple majority (51 yeses) to pass in the senate where regulatory bills require a three fifths majority (60 votes) which is much harder.

The Byrd rule, which is the rule in contention, says that you can’t just cram a random law into a budget bill, it has to be related to the budget. But the question at hand is, will the person responsible for determining if a section of a bill complied with Byrd consider the SHORT and HPA related enough to the budget? Those in favor cite the fact that the NFA has been repeatedly upheld as a budget law, not a regulatory law, therefore removing suppressors and SBRs is a budget item.
Those against point out that, technically speaking, the Byrd rule says that it doesn’t JUST have to be related in some way, shape, or form related to the budget, but that the effect on the budget is the primary reason why the law exists. And very very people can argue that it’s the $200 tax that the government cares about, rather than suppressors and SBRs being registered that’s the important bit.

Both sides have a point, so it’s a matter of wait and see which way it goes.

My glock 41 will get the stock and I'll be getting a .45 threaded barrel for it. I already own a 10mm barrel and mag kit, just need to buff the feed ramp.

I don't want to switch my grip angle so I won't put a foregrip on it. Notorious lower frame wobble makes me afraid I'm stressing the polymer frame. The stock kit is supposed to increase the lifespan of the gun for me. 10mm is the fastest cartridge that can come out of that gun, and .45 heavy boys are the slowest for suppression.

i havent read the short act but i did read the HPA and it does not remove infringements from silencers it just rewords and recategorizes the infringmentes from one section to another. now instead of paying taxes on your right to buy a silencer they only require you go through a background check and register it with a 4473 which totally doesnt get saved into FBI records along with all firearms transactions and purchases trustmebro. dont worry they will still know who to raid when the time comes to remove your privilege.

It's bouncing around committee while they figure out what is and isn't covered under Byrd. They're hoping for a vote Thursday but then it has to go back to the house and have the amended version voted on, which if amended again needs to go back to the senate to go through the whole process again. Ideally once the senate finishes reviewing and amending the bill it should just be a simple vote in the house for passage to the executive desk but there's a sufficient number of hardcore fiscal conservatives they barely wrangled last time and they might vote against, abstain (which would allow for a dem majority on a party line vote), or demand other changes.

I'm really happy. I went to NV for about 2 weeks to visit friends and it was so beautiful. I live on the East Coast and was just amazed at how free it is out there. We took a side by side from a little ways outside of Reno all the way to Virginia City through the mountains. Completely free. Was amazed to see a little spot that had shells and bullet casings, and there were also people there shooting on the drive back. The thought of selling public land is evil. The heat was somehow better than the East, imo. I live in the South and it is currently 100° and humid as fuck. The dry heat of NV is great. Say suppressors get removed from the NFA and end up only needing a 4473. Do you have to ship them to an FFL in your home state like pistols, or are they like long guns where you can transfer them through any FFL?
Also, my understanding is that the reason why wiped suppressors are uncommon is because the ATF considers suppressor parts to also be suppressors. Would that stay the same, or would you be able to easily stockpile and replace parts?

Building codes exist for a reason and it's not to make it difficult for individuals to build houses, it's make it so bottom of barrel tract builders actually have to make shit that won't collapse on the occupants or burn down in three years. everything they built was +600k homes on 1/4acre lots and luxury apartments because those are the best profit margins
the homes sit empty until boomers buy them to rent out, the apartments had to drop their rents so that now there are people paying 1.7k a month because they got in on the boom stuck next to poor nogs and beaners cramming 4 adults in a 2br and splitting 1.2k rents

I'm not saying building codes are a bad thing, but the unfortunate side effect is it does make it difficult for the average person to pay for all the requirements to build the home. Compared large entities who can pool their money together; but they also choose not to build more homes because that would devalue all the other homes.
