What's the point of these two pieces of shit? They had one fucking job (to bust bunkers) and they couldn't do it.

Imagine you bought a hammer for a billion dollars and it can't hammer a fucking nail.

You have to understand. Trump is senile. He's in and out. He was told it probably wouldn't work and it wasn't there. What do I know though I've been calling this war giving heads up to both sides days or hours before.
But seriously POTUS is broken. It's not the military's or weapons fault. It's the secdef, POTUS and chief of anti terrorism. They were told. No one has any idea what has been said to trump he's not telling anyone the truth. It's why he posted the text from the dutch. He's gone.

It's hard to know what the status of the facility is. I'm assuming it is damaged but Iran would have assuredly removed anything they didn't care to have hit.

The shylocks are moving the goalpost because they expected nothing but increasing escalation and our country fighting their war for them. If Israel wanted to validate the status of the facility, they should have sent a force in on the ground to raid the facility after the strike.

Sayan Trump did drop six bombs with ~5,000 pounds of explosives on each warhead near the doors of the facility. Without knowing the layout of the facility, it's hard to know if the pressure waves of each shot would have caused massive damage.

Iran shouldn't have agreed to the ceasefire because Israel is just going to re-arm itself and attack them again.

Israel's attack plans were leaked on 4chan ahead of the strike. Someone posted them on bant.

Those were leaked earlier (look at the date, and maybe on purpose) which caused them to delay it.

I think Israel will attack them again and it's trying to establish a new normal there, but Iran's only real defense against Israel is actually American pressure. They can't really hurt Israel that much without getting into a missile war of attrition that would devastate Iran because the Israeli Air Force could escalate to destroying their oil refineries and ports. The Israelis haven't done that yet, there was a report they hit a refinery but that was actually false, it didn't happen.

Basically the Iranian game plan was to force Israel to expend interceptors through these missile barrages, because Israel can't manufacture the interceptors fast enough by themselves, so the more interceptors they expend, the more they have to rely on the United States to resupply them in battle (and also park AEGIS cruisers off the coast to help). Which makes Israel more dependent on the U.S. and therefore subject to U.S. pressure, and then the Iranians were hoping to cut a deal with the U.S. to reign in Israel.

>>63892239
The leak occured prior to the NSC purge. Wonder if they ever caught the source.

>Iran's only real defense against Israel is actually American pressure.

The opposite is true. Israel wouldn't even exist let alone be able to attack all of its neighbors without being able to leech off of the US and Europe. They are able to do what they do because they control the US congress via AIPAC. The rate with which Israel was damaged would have been much faster without Trump using our military to defend them from the consequences of their attack on Iran.

Israel can't attack their ports and oil infrastructure because to do so would hurt the global oil supply and the US. It would make the US public even less supportive of Israel than we already are.

Iran had gone through the process of surviving the first strike and depleting Israel's interceptors. Conditions were beginning to favor the Iranian counter attack so they were offered an off ramp. This is the worst time for Iran to quit the bombardment. The expense associated with defending Israel is enormous. Why let off the gas when you know Israel is just going to do the exact same thing again. They should have pressed on with the fight.

>Why let off the gas when you know Israel is just going to do the exact same thing again. They should have pressed on with the fight.

This is just a guess but I think the real ceasefire was between iran and US. Israel got forced into it, but iran wants a longer term peace agreement and trump is less likely to let israel off the leash in the future. Also, trump lost 10 approval points in a weekend and was about to be faced with oil prices doubling/tripling and his base leaving him. MAGA helped stop the escalation by pressuring trump more than the neocons/israel could. Remember that iran was not only going to close the straits of hormuz in 24-48 hours, but because trump/israel threatened regime change, iran threatened it back. All of the middle east monarchies are puppets of USA/britain and destroying the persian gulf oil infrastructure would mean permanently destroying saudi arabia and the smaller countries. You don't even have to blow up the oil fields, just destroy the terminals sitting on the gulf itself and it's all over. Think about the saudi royal family and how much dysfunction there already is(beatings/torture), now imagine there's no oil money and 1000 princes go at it for turf. US/israel didn't account for this at all, iran knew how to bleed america way more than america could hurt them.

The different kind of bunker buster bombs are meant to penetrate different depths. There were people saying before the strikes that Fordow can't be be destroyed by MOP's and Trump just flat out ignored them. If the US actually cared about destroying Fordow the most reliable method would have been an actual SFraid and just destroying it from the inside but that would have been politically unfeasible. There's nothing fundamentally wrong with the MOP itself and you have to remember the amount of targets that are dug in as deep and into a mountain is extremely slim. Of course if you want to go full retard you could just nuke it.

"Behind the scenes: Trump has specifically asked his military advisers whether the Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) would destroy Fordow, a U.S. official said.
Pentagon officials told Trump they're confident it would, according to the official. But it's not clear Trump was totally convinced."

Look at your own map. What is kuwait/UAE/bahrain/qatar going to do? And even if iran limited the strike to persian gulf, who's going to yanbu with houthis waiting at bab-el-mandeb? And who says iran or houthis can't blow up yanbu afterwards? The situation would evolve and iran would just strike the infrastructure that saudis tried to use. It would be complete devastation, no nukes needed.

No problem with the airplane and weapon system per se, or its deployment for that mission.
The problem is, Iran's Fordow underground complex is constructed beneath a hard rock mountain. It's not a mere 'bunker', has multiple layers and components of fortification (it's not just a reinforced concrete box)
With Fordow, their main targets for GBU-57 weapon are its entrances so that a secondary-effect blast wave could be created through the tunnel-corridor system of the underground complex hopefully fingers-crossed to impact the main centrifuge area which is the most deeply embedded and buried sector beneath the mountain. Tactic for attacking this deeply buried underground complex, is half based upon luck.

My understanding of the mission is the bombs actually did their job and blew the place up. But the Iranians had already moved all the important stuff out of the complex so all the US ended up doing was bombing an empty building in effect.

Yes the bombs correctly struck their exact impact points/targets (and also correctly exploded subsurface). Damage to the vast underground complex itself remains unverified, this includes the enriched nuclear materials and also machinery/centrifuges: there's a likelihood that a lot of it was already moved elsewhere prior to the attacks.
None of the *actual* damage to the site as a result of the strike, can currently be verified.
IAEA/someone else would have to physically inspect the site itself, to verify.
