I have a weird relationship with Killing Floor. I only ended up playing it during the Christmas events (and then with Christmas mode turned on permanently when they allowed it). Funnily enough, the regular Deus Ex pistol can be stealthier than the stealth pistol (the Ghost in the Shell -ish one).
The enemies don't hear gunshots from particularly far away, and the regular pistol does more damage, so it's often easier to drop the target before he can alert others.

Stealth is for pussies in the sense that it trivializes the whole game. For a long time I though commandos were added as a hard mechanical counter to baton sprees, until I realized they were the same one-hit knockout as everybody else, its just their head hitbox is on their tailbone.

One of the things that got me into No More Room in Hell was the actual real guns - and you can mod to swap them out when the same models get boring (Like an Ishapore for Saiga, etc.)

Realistic ammo, weight, reload, etc. There are mods for unlimited carry, zombies drop ammo (MERICA!) and other shit so you can just go full shooting gallery

KF1 felt so good until they started shitting it up with meme weapons and characters. Had a lot of hope for KF2 when they said they did high speed motion capture for real life weapons but the weapons just felt ok and with the sci-fi nonsense, definitely a huge step away from what made KF1 great. KF3's been a trainwreck but it looks like the devs are improving it to be like a UE5 version of KF2 which is ok with me. But looks like we'll never get that 90s innabritishwoods grungy KF1 atmosphere again.

KF3's beta was fucking abysmal. Even if they fix the issues with the gameplay, the direction they've taken the game is beyond saving. All the semi-authentic gun porn is gone, the edge is gone, the trashy humor is gone and replaced with MCU grade quips, the weapons look and sound like they belong in Borderlands. Tripwire is dead and they aren't getting my money.

Republic Commando had a great pistol, decent damage, infinitely recharging ammo, cool draw and melee animations.
Bioshock 1 pistol was nice, good sounds and smoke effects, accurate, headshot damage made it very useful. Prey 2017 pistol was kind of a let down but that was probably intentional
Top end unique pistols in the STALKER series were very satisfying, but the basic ones are useless outside of point blank headshot range.

Meta Magnum Mk II from Beyond Citadel is fun.

I like how in Watch Dogs Aiden drawing a pistol has him with the gun out as a quickdraw but after a second he transitions to an actual stance. But the silenced 1911 at the start of the game can handle almost every stealth scenario. There's honestly little reason to get more pistols because the starter one just does it all.

Counter Strike games have a nice dynamic between its pistols. On one hand you have a slower firing, 13 round holding ,45acp thats a bit more accurate and suppressed. And on the other hand you have a 20 round slightly less accurate unsuppressed Glock. They're both great pistols if you play them to their strengths which makes it a very well thought out dynamic of spraying vs aiming depending on which side you're on. Which I think is kinda cool given that it kinda continues to push that age old /k/ debate of "muh boomer 45 accuracy nra bullseye shooting" vs "muh broccoli head fast splits burn it down striker fired" shit you always used to hear

Battlefield 2142 had the best pistols. The top break revolver is superior, but I've always thought that the PAC pistol had some really logical improvements for a video game gun, with a fixed top rail and flip-up red dot sight.

The 10mm pistol could be powerful, but only with headshots, and 10mm ammo dries up in the 2nd half of the game. The revolver turns into a grenade launcher with the explosive upgrade. It's able to take down bosses super fast.

the glock had a great recoil animation, had a lot of energy, made you feel like you were really sticking it to them. Then you got the Desert Eagle and experienced a violence awakening.

I don't remember the last time I played through Human Revolution without the debug menu specifically because of the ammo availability and energy bars. I always thought it was beyond stupid that I'm the security guy for one of the richest men on the planet, I end up taking on the Illuminati by myself, and I have to source all my ammo from back alley gun dealers. I just max out my ammo every time I'm in Detroit because if Sarif isn't paying for it then I quit. And also there are energy cheats so you don't have to eat a candy bar every time you want to punch someone.

The punching/takedown animation is ridiculously overpowered even without cheating, especially if you've unlocked some energy regen upgrades and the reflex booster that lets you take down two enemies at the same time.
Maybe it's just because it was made for the horribly RAM-crippled Xbox 360 and the PS3 (yay, let's run games off 8+ GB media but only have a couple hundred MB of usable RAM and try to do high-definition graphics with that), but most of the time there's maybe a dozen enemies in the loaded area at once, if even that. Not too hard to just find spots where you can eliminate them two guys at a time.

That cop you normally speak to when entering the station - Haas - doesn't show up during your 2nd visit to Detroit. There's also a newspaper story you can read about the attack, where a vague description of Jensen is shown, but he isn't ID'd, no matter what you do. You can speak to Haas, then knock him out and stand in-front of the cameras while going postal. It doesn't matter.

It's far from the best pistol in the game (less effective than other choices at most ranges), but I like the Cerberus from Planetside 2 for its animation.
It's the only gun in the game that reloads its energy cell in a "break action" method like this. Most energy weapons just use larger circular batteries inserted into the side, though there are two pump action energy shotguns in the game (that at close ranges kill instantly even with body shots) where you load these little cells into a magazine individually which I think is a nice bit of "continuity".

Absolutely goated mod. I was never very good at it and relied on the AK. Hostile Intent was my favorite. The 1911 in it with spare pistol mags was the meta. You could get your pistol up more quickly than smg/shotgun/carbine and shrek fools while spastically running around.

H3VR does pistols (and any other kind of gun) better than any other game, and has hundreds of them. Gameplay is pretty bare though outside of take and hold
Receiver 1 and 2 are the best outside of VR and are better on the gameplay front, but still really stripped down.
Red orchestra/Rising storm are the best you'll get in a multiplayer game

A little bit, but never finished it. I was really disappointed that there were no friendly or neutral NPCs and the only enemies were black blobs or black blobs shaped like people.
Still had some fun with it though. Tiptoeing through the night with just a cigarette and a flashlight to see by was spooky as fuck. Hopefully they'll get added or modded in to Into the Radius 2
