There are tons of video reviews already out there. I like mine a lot especially due to how unobtrusive it is. The illuminator is great as well obviously not as strong as something FP yet perfectly fine at 300yds. There's not much else to say other than it's small, light and just works.

Oh, I didn’t receive an AR15. I will be given my dad’s 70s Winchester 94. I plan on putting an aperature, and replacing that flat spring abomination. It’s wore out, and won’t hold zero. When I received it, it was rough. There was no bluing on the barrel, was covered with rust. It had a brass plated receiver, and the previous owner got rid of the plating. So now the receiver is covered with pitting, it’s in the white, and there’s remnants of brass plating here, and there on the rifle. The action itself was so rusty that it was seized. I had to replace all the screws, springs, one of the end caps was missing, it was just a lot. There’s over 90 moving parts in that action anon. It took a while, but worth it. I’ll post pics in a few.

The illuminator slider is also really fast unlike having to spin a knob. The only thing it truly lacked was a CQB diffuser but villian weapon systems made one that works great. Another good option is the laserspeed m6tr if you want something FP.

There's really only so much a regular civilian needs a laser to do and the IRIS does it while maintaining a small footprint that keeps the gun light and doesn't interfere with ergonomics for the 99% of the time you're shooting in the daylight.

Holosun has cleaner (smaller) laser and is easier to select between modes. The M6TR is also larger and has a knob on the back which protrudes.
Holosun eats it's lunch IMO. You may not think it but you actually want a less powerful IR laser most of the time. Bloom exists and steel reflects light which increases the size of the laser. The further out you shoot the more exacerbated this problem becomes as the laser also increases in size with distance.
The IRIS is the biggest no brainer in the space.

I know for a fact there is truth to your statement but that still doesn't change that geissele, DD and these other bigger companies are making some of the more crucial parts of the rifle like barrels in house. Many of them also make their own rail systems and other proprietary touches as well. Sure, maybe they all use the same upper/lower receiver forgings and lower parts kits but you are undeniably getting better main components and quality control when you buy at least a mid range priced rifle.

WHAT DO I BUY?

Need an AR-10 handguard for forward mounting clip on NODs and an aiming laser. Host gun is a precision rifle with a 20MoA reciever (Ruger RPR). What's the state of the art these days? Are there multiple decent options? Top priority is rigidity.

Also, does anybody make MLOK segments with built in elevation so my clipped on NOD will actually be parallel to the optic instead of canted 20MoA?

Phosphate actually holds oil unlike chrome lining, chrome is an additive layer so can chip/flake off. Chrome is also tricker to do right so you find more dud BCG's that s chrome lined (compared to phosphated). The only real benefit of chrome (besides looking cool) is the wipe clean aspect and corrosion resistance, which NP3 does better.
