The last reports regarding them called them good soldiers. Kleptomaniacs but very good marksmen, very brave and obedient, e.g. would bait out suicide drones using themselves as bait and then shoot it down. If I remember correctly they were actually a part of s specifically very good unit, but regardless they should not be underestimated.

War is just a bunch of people trying to kill each other. Most people can’t internalize that on their own. Even when faced with direct accounts from veterans who say war is hell, they don’t “get” it. It’s one thing to know something intellectually, and another to know something in the familiar sense.

FPV drones and cameras are a good thing, because it allows normal people to see what war actually is. Even then, that’s not enough for some people.

No. They use outdated tactics (even by vatnik standards) and can't communicate with the russians- so they always get deployed separately.

Reports show them acting confused when encountering drones and other "modern" weaponry.

They are terrified of being captured and keep blowing themselves up with grenades or just straight out blow their brains out when cut off their unit.

In societies where communism and extreme poverty are the norm, frequent theft is widely considered normal.
People take what they can in order to survive, and everyone does it. That was the case in Stalin's Soviet union, Maoist China, and current day north Korea.
Historically, even people with good government jobs, working in offices, would steal various supplies, furniture, slight bulbs, etc, to sell on the black market.
Everyone did it. If someone refrained from doing so they were treated with suspicion and ostracized as suspected feds and snitches.

General post-Kursk analysis by people who know what they're talking about usually deem them pretty solid soldiers which makes sense given that they are SOF. It seems at first they used tactics much different from the Russians, large company scale attacks with ~150-300 troops and some armored vehicles but with a lot of troops on foot. Obviously these got broken up by drones and artillery most of the time so they eventually started adapting to using Russian tactics of sending small units forward across a broad front until they find a weak spot and sending more small units there (while the original surviving waves take cover and wait) until they hit a critical mass of troops that can overrun defenders with numbers. They were generally seen as better than the Russians for he simple reason that they were a lot more motivated and willing to risk their lives. Granted the effectiveness of this on he battlefield at a strategic scale is limited, but it does have some effect at a tactical level. So overall they are better than ziggers but not in ways large enough to really differentiate them in terms of commanders picking who goes where. They may lend a slight increase in effectiveness for the vanguard units in an assault I guess.

Artillery deployed mines are not at all what's described in the image
>>63926370
So realistically you're not carrying more than a couple along with the rest of your gear, so my point remains: how do you create a several hundred meter deep minefield that fucks an entire enemy battalion unless you're "infiltrating" a company or more worth of troops to the enemy rear? The only way I see that being feasible is if the Norwegians only had a very narrow retreat route available, or the front was so porous that for all intents the Finns had free movement and probably outnumbered the Norwegians in the exercise
Anonymous No.63926497 [Report]
>>63926440
Don't forget it's winter, they had ahkio's too. A squad can do with one mine each a 50x50 meter minefield. You send a platoon for a mission to mine the enemy's rear, you have more than that with you. And well, the several hundred is not a specific number, it's more than 100, so it might be 200-300m section of road/forest. (I wasn't there)

A while back some Russians on Telegram were talking about how hospitals in Moscow had separate wards set aside for them, supposedly decent medical treatment is part of the deal. Some were complaining that they were getting better treatment than Russians.

It coincided with a somewhat mysterious visit by their Chief Commissar and was right after the 'incidents' with Chechens so it seems they are reasonably well cared for. Recently they made a big deal about retirement homes and care for disabled solders as well. All indications are that they are treated decently or at least better than your typical Russian.

And yes, mines are the one thing along with the rifle that every conscript gets to handle. I'm AA and we got trained how to use them, along with "command-mode" claymores. Also the military uses AT mines as replacements for any missing gear during marches. From 15-17 everyone does WPK Guard, basically militarized boy scouts. The rest is pretty standard if they are in elite units.

The big deal is that they have a NCO system comparable to that of a western military and a unique officer system. Their officers receive the same sort of thing you would expect, 3 years on a military academy ect. The huge difference is to be considered as a cadet a tour of (voluntary) prior enlisted service is mandatory.

So a typical Lt is in his early 30s, spent 8 years as a NCO, 3 years officer training then signed up for at least another 8 years.

They have an entire separate reserve service branch for 'retired' officers and senior NCOs to keep up to date in case they are needed in wartime, the obvious drawback of their officer system is the huge amount of time it takes to make officers.

Fortified Taras here.
We've all seen the unpacking of the liquidated North Korean company commander.
Conclusions from what we saw:
Carried two guns. An assault rifle and a shotgun (to shoot down drones)
Was with his soldiers. The company man's rank is major. No Russian major is ever in the trenches.
Carried a decent supply of ammunition.
Personally, I think this was a pretty good officer.
But it's probably an elite unit.
One thousandth of the entire army.

Note that the DPRK made a National Holiday about their losses, Russia refuses to admit there is a war.

The DPRK has properly respected their hero's, no one else has. Kim has respected them, Putin does not.

The way Russia disrespects the Chosen who are dying for them really pisses me off, a Choson life is not worth a single inch of Russian soil.

If you're korean I'll say this to you.
Try to convince people that being a Russian ally is a one sided deal. Save yourself the problems.

You just fucked up twice. First: The DPRK aren't Commies, they are a Monarchy. Second, i've been a part of the Trump Campaign since 2016 so you are the traitor not me. MAGA JUCHE is a real thing.

I'm not Korean. My goal is an alliance between the USA and DPRK, that is what i want. Nixon went to China, i want Trump to go to Pyongyang. North Korea and the USA should be allies.

We know you have a toolbox-worth of loose screws but we keep you around because you're entertaining.

How does MAGA square with your support for Ukraine?

>How does MAGA square with your support for Ukraine?

Easy answer.

As long as the DPRK supports Russia the more Russia destroys itself. China and the DPRK both want to see Russia ruined, they are both supporting Russia so it self destructs.

When the war is over the DPRK will have taken enough resources and technology from Russia to become a global power and will have enough nukes to deter the PRC.

Since the DPRK has already proven itself to be a global level weapons supplier, the backstab inherent in a USA/DPRK alliance becomes clear.

No they are not.

The average age of a North Korean soldier is 23-25, the junior Officers and NCOs are in their early 30s or early 40s.

Nonsensical AI trash. The images lack continuity, they could tell a story but they are disjointed which is a shame as it has the potential to tell a good story.

The AI needs to do better.
