My uncle joined the Army for this reason (and because he's a meathead also), and we've never looked down on it as a career choice. Besides, it's a good way to repay the country for taking us in

The 45th is still administratively part of the 10th Panzer division even though its going to be a permanently forward deployed formation. It's called that because the term 'general staff' was considered too associated with the World Wars, and without a Generalstab there couldn't be a Chef des Generalstabes.
