So she comes in with no mag in it and we go to check it out and when we racked the slide a live round popped out. She had no idea that you had to clear the chamber. Former Cabelasfag here, even despite all the procedure they drill into you with chamber flagging and trigger locking incoming customer owned guns for appraisal, scope mounting, etc (which you will be disciplined for not adhering to), smoothbrain customers still find a way to ignore the giant “firearms check-in station” sign right at the front doors and bring loaded guns back to the counter which invariably end up pointed at you. If there wasn’t even that admittedly somewhat porous check-in regime, the company would probably lose at least 1 employee/yr to “unloaded” customer firearms.
