Go to Cabelas and start from the cheapest option available. You probably won't need a $1k+ scope for hunting, and in practice if you run magnification past about 10x you'll quickly find that it's just a Parkinson's simulator.

yea 600 was the death count from 2005-6 for a battalion commanded by him. id be willing to believe he shot some 60 or so zogbots in his entire career. snipers can rack up many kills in such urban environments with low risk over a long time.
the bigger impact was made from documenting it for everyone to witness. anyone in the world could watch americans get blown up and that definetely sped up the decision to withdraw.

This. An Arisaka is an M98 and the P14/17 is a large-ring M96 action. Forgotten Weapons showed off a P14 rebarreld to x54R and honestly that fucks imo. Any M98 that's been rebarreld to .30-06 is totally cool and alright to use, I've heard that guys have done M98s in .338LM but haven't seen an example myself anywhere. There's also those Siamese Mausers that usually end up getting done up in .45-70 (not that it's really high pressure comparatively speaking)

Luv me 1301, it's lighter than the m4, has a better bolt release, the new ones have the frame cutout for ease of loading, it's not as cool as the m4 but it's a solid shotgun. You can change out the front handguard to several others and the new one should have the updated Mlok grip.

Muslims beheaded Canadian mining company consultants in Mindanao who were helping torture and kill indigenous Lumads, John Ridsdel and Robert Hall.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Ridsdel

>At the time of the kidnapping, he was retired. Prior to that he had been working for the mining company TVI Resource Development Philippines Inc.,[3] a subsidiary of Canada's TVI Pacific, where he was also a consultant.

>Ridsdel was kidnapped by Abu Sayyaf militants in the Philippines on 21 September 2015, in a raid on Holiday Ocean View Samal Resort, on Samal Island in the southern Philippines.[4] After the gunmen disarmed the resort's security guards, they abducted four people from the resort, the Canadians John Ridsdel and Robert Hall, the resort's Norwegian marina manager Kjartan Sekkingstad, and a Filipino woman, Teresita Flor.[5]

>The kidnappers later issued demands for a hefty ransom to be paid for the release of the hostages, reportedly 300 million pesos (around $6.5 million) for each of the three foreigners seized. As the deadline lapsed on 25 April 2016, they apparently beheaded Ridsdel.[6] Ridsdel's head was found in a plastic bag in Jolo.[7] A headless body, possibly Ridsdel's, was later found by villagers by a creek bed near Talipao. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police launched an international murder investigation.[8]

The company he worked for was involved in torturing and killing indigenous Lumad people (Lumads are not Muslim btw)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TVI_Pacific

>In 2015 TVI was mentioned along with several other mining companies as being the likely beneficiary of a series of government-funded murders of the indigenous Lumads who live in the Mindanao region of the Philippines, an area rich in mineral resources to which these companies would like better access.[3]

juba absolutely was a real person and commander and you can watch all 4 (except the first) of his ORIGINAL high quality uncut videos where you can see him speaking to the viewer directly
https://watchpeopledie.tv/h/combat/post/157794/all-4-juba-baghdad-sniper-videos
>In November 2005, a video which was circulating in Iraq appeared on the Internet.[4] The video, attributed to the Sunni insurgent group Islamic Army in Iraq, showed American soldiers being shot and falling to the ground. The video starts with a man saying, "I have nine bullets in this gun, and I have a present for George Bush. I am going to kill nine soldiers. I am doing this for the viewers to watch. God is greater. God is greater." With that, he makes his way from the vehicle, and a series of separate scenes follow showing several individuals shot in action.
i could never find this one so it mustve been censored
tldr for his video monolouges:
>juba trained his soldiers with The Ultimate Sniper by retired marine John L Plaster
>the psychological impact of filming. a single bullet killed one, if not two soldiers
>americans hid the real death count in iraq. when cnn aired footage of sniper attacks their correspondant/journalist was removed from the us forces. websites hosting the videos were taken down
>โ€ive seen funny sights, we say funny because this american soldier hiding behind his armor and advanced weapons, his image in the hollywood movies as a super-soldier, yet when his friend is shot he runs like a rat not even trying to save his colleagueโ€
>the name juba comes from a sudanese death dance. us forces instructed their soldiers to dance when one of theirs was shot to avoid being hit
so thats where chris kyle comes from loool

hello friends, it's me again. I am becoming indecisive about picking my first hunting rifles cartridge. I originally thought .308 would be ideal for me but then some people are saying 30-06 is better and some people swear by the .300 win mag. I want ONE hunting rifle for all big game, what to do? I will probably never ever go beyond 300 yards. please keep the price and availability of the cartridge in mind. what do you guys suggest? Hunting season is coming and I need to make my decision fast.

for big game up north .300wm is basically king, if you've never hunted a moose they are fucking Huge and you want to put them down so they don't suffer to much unless you're a jeetpoo or reservational

.308 is fine enough for anything else up to caribou and what not
I can't speak to 30-06 though I'm not very familiar with it

Also, I'm looking at super light weight rifles, I heard .300 win mag can have recoil that is too hard to handle on a lightweight rifle?

Can legally take Canadas largest game with it; Bison (Req min 175grains retaining 2000ftlb energy @ 100meters) while also not being total overkill on smaller durrs and such like .300winmag is.

Legendary faggots, have speculated, to an entirely arbitrary concept, that if the neck of a case is shorter than than the diameter of the bullet, that the bullet would not sit straight in the case, impeding accuracy.
But they have been proven wrong, 1000x over, as 300winmag has consistently placed in top slots in almost every single open long range shooting competition of the last half century, plus. Not to mention its military record.

if you have $7-10k to spend on a rifle there's a whole new world of moneywasting just waiting for you. i feel like anyone with that much dosh to splosh on a bolt gun can probably afford to shoot .388 Lapua, in which case they wouldn't even bother with .300WM

300wm goes in a chassis, you buy a tikka ultralight and toss it in a cheap aics chassis.
Otherwise, you could just look for n old rem700 in a standard length action.
PArt of what makes 300wm special, is that it is a true magnum rifle cartridge, that fits in a standard length action, as apposed to a magnum length action. Its based.

anon makes a good point, it does permit a more compact gun but with considerably more oomf than .308.

i think if you want to go the .300winmag route you're probably on the path to hand loading too. it's def more expensive and off-the-shelf offerings are more limited than .308, but that's all negligible if you make your own boolits.

Yeah, their history is quite sad but regardless of the reasons their guns were pretty terrible for that last few years of production.
Current Remington ammo is decent enough, though I know it's a separate company entirely. I have no issues with buying a modern Marlin as Ruger bought them and Ruger makes famously good guns, aside from the early Mini14s being a bit crappy in the accuracy department.
I would love to get a stainless Marlin SBL but fucking FAGGOT BOOMERS keep adding themselves to wait lists. My LGS said they are on a waiting list of gun shops, each shop having its own respective waiting list of customers. They said it'll likely be years before they ever see one come through their doors, to a point where they got rid of their list and just said it'd be first come first serve if any ever do show up.

I'm convinced the destruction of Winchester and Remington are part of a broader, more elaborate humiliation ritual meant to demoralize Americans by attacking some of their most beloved and trusted companies. Trotting out their corpses in a zombified state with Winchester branded TURKSHIT and what is likely subpar guns holding the legendary Model700 designation really is the icing on the cake. They just can't resist defiling the corpses after murdering them with (((lawsuits))) and (((unions))).

They're 5k new now. I kinda want one in .223 or .308 but it's too much. I'm also not a huge fan of some of the design elements. The thing is held together by a million torx screws iirc and the adjustable rest are held in place by a screw flexing the what i assume is the alumium stock to clamp down on the rest rods, it's just asking to distort or break

They will never roll back on the bans, they are zealots and will never admit they're wrong even when they know it. It took Harper to abolish the LGR. It would take a different government to abolish C21 and the OICs.
It's far more likely they will continue on their present course of trying to bankrupt the industry by starving gun retailers in the background while parroting false talking points about public safety and ignoring rampant gun crime by gangs.
If there's any notion that Carney is afraid to waste money then you have forgotten he's no longer working for a bank. He has an unlimited spending account now and he's using your money, he can't get fired for wasting it.

Damn, that's pretty pathetic honestly. Not that I should be surprised, I live in one of the most "based" cities in Canada (according to cangen anyways) and I get half jokingly called a potential mass shooter every couple of months due to occasionally mentioning guns in conversations. And no, aside from being a quiet white guy I don't fit the stereotype.

>he's no longer working for a bank
He hasn't worked at a bank in over 20 years since he left Goldman Sachs in 2003 to become deputy governor of the Bank of Canada. Since then he's been playing with funny money in both Canada and Britain, both of which are famously flourishing economies.

https://philippinerevolution.nu/2020/05/07/plunderous-mining-operations-in-mindanao-continue-amid-pandemic/

>The TVI Pacific Inc. started its operations in the Philippines in 1998. The company is known as the biggest gold and silver producer and the biggest exporter of copper and zinc concentrate. It seized control over Mt. Canatuan in Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte which is considered sacred by the Subanen Lumad group, and Mt. Balabag in Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur. Since the 17th century, the group inhabited the said mountains as part of their ancestral domain.

>The entry of TVI Pacific Inc. in Mt. Canatuan resulted in massive devastation. The company opened its first gold and silver processing plant in the mountain in 2004. In its first four years of operation, it was able to produce more than 105 ounces of gold and 1.8 million ounces of silver dorรฉ amounting to approximately $86 million.

>The mining plant stopped operations in 2014 after depleting minerals in the said mountain. Soldiers of the 44th IB serve as the mining plantโ€™s security forces and are behind the forcible eviction of Subanen Lumads and suppression of their resistance.

>After its plunderous operation in Mt. Canatuan, the TVI Pacific Inc. started its operation in Mt. Balabag in 2008. The company used the issuance of Mineral Production Sharing Agreements to encroach in 4,479 hectares of land in Bayog. There are estimates that the area has 210,000 ounces of gold reserves.

>TVI was a part owner of Kingking project and two representatives of TVI were on its board of directors. In 2002, there were two violent attacks on TVI personnel resulting in 15 people being killed. The second of these attacks happened on December 26, 2002 when, according to TVI, "an unidentified group of armed terrorists ambushed a vehicle carrying TVI employees" travelling between Canatuan and Siocon. Thirteen people were killed and 12 people were wounded.

>TVI employs armed paramilitary guards known as Special Civilian Armed Auxiliaries (SCAA). These guards are trained and armed by the Philippine military, but employed by TVI. The guards man numerous checkpoints between the town of Siocon and the mine in Canatuan. Having recently visited the area, I can attest to the fact that at least the first of these checkpoints is on the public road outside of the mine's concession area. The SCAA guards control the movement of goods and people on and off the site, which is also part of the government-recognized ancestral land of the local Subanon people. Leaders of the indigenous community who oppose the mine have been singled out for victimization. The legitimate and recognized "Timuay" or leader of the Subanon of Canatuan, Timuay Josรฉ Anoy, is no longer allowed to pass the checkpoints to go to his home, nor can others from Canatuan who have expressed opposition to the mine. TVI is clearly not in compliance with its 1997 Environmental Compliance Certificate that requires the company to assure that "public roads shall remain open to allow the free flow of traffic."

>Residents both from Canatuan and from the town of Siocon have faced attacks by the SCAA. Community opposition to the mine has been met with violence from security forces. There have been several shooting incidents involving company security. The most recent was in March 2004, when picketers opposing the movement of mining equipment were fired upon by company security and military. Four people, including tribal elder Timuay Macario Salacao, were wounded

350.org has accused mining companies including UK-based Philex, Swiss company Glencore, which has a Canadian mining arm, Japanese company Sumitomo, Australiaโ€™s Red 5 Limited, and Canadian-linked Toronto Ventures Incorporated (now known as TVI Resources Development) of โ€œland grabsโ€ in the Mindinao.
