>>63941549 (OP)Do two coats minimum. If color is too translucent, do a white base first. Buy nail polish. Dollar tree or more fancy, doesn't matter as long as you like the color. Use 3m blue painters tape to mask all but the edge of the blade, trimming excess with new brand name x-acto (dollar tree shit may work but quality is much lower). Shake nail polish bottle. Pull out brush, wipe on rim of bottle. Put one even layer on thin. Wait to dry with bottle closed. Hair dryer makes it go faster. Do second layer as first. Repeat until happy with result. Peel off tape. If tape does not cut the paint cleanly on peel, only use tape for first or second layer.
>>63942795Paint pen is really good for certain things, just not sights. The white and black Sharpie oil paint markers are great for marking ammo cans and putting witness marks on screws, though other brands have way more colors available. They've been around a long time.
>>63942824Ooh, I might have to try those out. Do they come off with alcohol easily like the Sharpie oil paint ones or do they need acetone? I like that the Sharpie oil markers come off easy but they tend to flow a little less than I'd like and they dry out quicker than I think they should. I sometimes have to do two layers to get my markings on ammo cans to be pure white rather than slightly dull white. Layers too thin.
