Turkish_Navy_Moves_Toward_Supercarrier_Class_with_300m_Aircraft_Carrier_Through_Turkish_Spanish_Firms_Cooperation-aed1609d
Hot on the heels of the announcement that France and Italy will collaborate to build nuclear powered super carriers to replace the Charles de Gaulle and Cavour, Turkey and that shithole known as Spain will collaborate on a 300 meter carrier of their own.

As Turkey has excluded itself from the F-35 program due to the S-400 purchase and Spain due to being an anti-American shithole, it will be interesting to see how what they plan to fly off it, even more so than what the fuck France and Shitaly are going to do since one is in NGAD and the other FCAS. Will Spain join the development of Kaan or go with one of the Euro sixth gens?

Turkish LHD (based on Spanish Juan Carlos ) now can launch tactical UAVs, soon it will launch jet fighter drones.

Essentially I believe Turkish aircraft carrier will essentially be a drone fighter base

Collaborate in this sense means what Spain and Turkey did with the Anadolu/Juan Carlos. Spain will partner with the design and tech transfer along with some manufacture and both will look to licence the design overseas.

>Will Spain join the development of Kaan or go with one of the Euro sixth gens?

Spain doesn't care about what it flies from carriers and even cut its own carrier for cost reasons. They're still using Harriers on a LHD to support some limited power projection and that's it with no significant budget rise on the way because Spanish politics would collapse.

>Spain due to being an anti-American shithole

Something something Empires and Realpolitik are back on the menu. France needs a replacement for the CDG, with supposedly more rooms for carrier based UAVs (rofl about the SCAF debacle, we're never getting that turkey unless someone shoots Trappier to submission. But we can't since Dassault's doing an ok job at building stuff, that company is untouchable with the leverage they piled over the years at the DGA)

We're not going to make our security dependant on the whims of America's partisan politics. Relying on Nato was acceptable when there was unwavering bipartisan support from the US but Trump 2 killed that.
