No, and I don't think the PLAN itself would claim that it has. I would say its capabilities still lag behind in many areas. I'd also say though that /k/ is way too harsh on them and that the PLAN has undergone a pretty dramatic expansion of its capabilities and operations, and that it would be a fool's errand to discount them in a war. I wouldn't call the PLAN a peer-adversary for the USN, but they're a lot nearer-pear than any other country.

No. China is very weak and a paper tiger. We need to spend less on our navy and more on missile defense.

t. chang. Your fucking navy is sinking before even reaching blue waters. Your joke of a carrier has a massive crack on it. You are on par with India.

The crack is visually false and the US' own intelligence assessment is that that's not what the sattelite image shows. We have numerous close-up pictures and videos of the new carrier now with no crack in it but for sure the low-res sattelite image that shows some sort of irregular shape is definite proof of a crack. There are actual USN assessments of PLAN exercises and they paint a completely different picture than you're painting, they show definite increases in operational capability. Being a knuckle-dragging troglodyte so you can get upboats on r/noncredibledefense is unserious.

Not even close, at best they can be speedbump against our operations in the Pacific. The PLAN either lacks the ability or the will to operate internationally. Frankly the latter is worse because if that's the case they can build as many boats as they want and they could never be a USN equal because they'll never develop the experience and mission capabilities the USN has

exceeded in some ways (type 55 ddg and type 54 ffg; newer overall surfance combatants)
lagging in others (ssns, ssgns, number of carriers)

>Has the PLAN caught up with the USN?
Has the PLAN ~90 years experience in carrier warfare?
Has the PLAN been a vital part of several victories in large and small wars?
Has the PLAN about ~90 years of trial, error and learning under its belt? Especially with the Carrier Battle Group being their main doctrine AND element of waging naval warfare?
Has the PLAN people like Admiral Rickover AND listens to them to establish rigurous safety and other protocols?
Has the PLAN used one of their CVBG thousands of miles away from home to enforce the will of the CCP?
Numbers are one thing. What shit sniffers like you don't understand is that other things are just as important, sometimes even more.
The US Navy has been playing its Over The Ocean strategy for the better part of a century now. They got so much raw experience its not even funny. No amount of ant people and ships can make this up within such a short time.
And no, leading a peace time navy is not an excuse. If you wanna git gud you must use your ships - and lose some of them.
