How many different military rifle models can you identify that contributed parts to this example of one of Francis Bannerman's many cash grab Frankensteins?

Early L85A1s are notoriously fragile in some aspects, most infamously the issued mosquito repellent of the British Army was found to cause the already pretty brittle green plastic furniture to start dissolving.
I would legit be worried about how skin oils would affect it if I was intent on keeping one mint.

The Royal Armoury is a museum. He is a museum curator. That particular rifle is held as a museum item. Part of handling the objects held in a museum is making sure you don't damage them. Human sweat and general skin secretions can actually do a lot of damage to metal if you give them long enough; we're talking centuries here. By wearing those gloves he makes sure that he isn't leaving anything on the rifle that can cause damage over the long term.

Stingers were unit approved Bubba mods. The marines in the Pacific wanted a machinegun lighter and handier for beach landings and responding to ambushes. They took some solinoid actuated aircraft 1919s, stuck some Garand stocks on them, put some BAR bipods on, and fabricated up some triggers. There were 6 (I think) made. They worked pretty good, one guy got a Medal of Honor with one, but they weren't made to be durable or multipurpose

Not really an unusual gun with our benefit of hindsight but imagine being some Ukrainian peasant whom the only guns he's ever seen has been his grandfather's century-old hunting rifle and the occasional policeman with a revolver and suddenly encountering a German soldier carrying one of these for the first time. It must've seemed like literal space-age shit.

In a weird way yes. Its actually the XL78E1
The XL70's were more reliable than what became the L85A1, even though they weren't that reliable to begin with. Somehow over the course of development the guns progressively got worse with the XL60's also being better than the XL70's.

Or the other alien species gun that was like a gatling gun that could also grind people up like a lawnmower.

Only one of the rifles has a trigger.
The others have auto-sears rigged to fire as soon as the bolt closes on an live round.

Rifle 1 has a loaded chamber and a trigger
Rifle 2 and 3 have no triggers and empty chambers.

>pull trigger on rifle 1
>rifle 1 fires and the gas cycles the action of rifle 2
>rifle 2 immediately fires, the gas cycles the action of rifle 3
>rifle 3 immediately fires, the gas cycles the action of rifle 1
>see step:1

In "semi-auto" it fires in 3-round bursts.
