>>63965824There's a ridge of glacial soil deposits the runs north-south iirc through Council Bluffs, that's similar to what you find in Central/Eastern Ukraine. West of it is plains with a few more such ridges, and then rivered woodlands and plains. East is flatlands with nothing but corn and the occasional river or creek.
Cold as fuck in the winter, with several feet of snow minimum. Hot as hell in summer, with high humidity and thunderstorms.
Fun fact: follow the train tracks north of the homeless shelter and you'll find a spring on the Eastern face of a ridge. There are paths to follow from that spring that lead to a memorial which overlooks Omaha to the West. It's lovely in spring and summer but damn hot; autumn is best. And bring your tick spray.
If you're there, drive to the top of the memorial and post a photo.
