For me, it's the humble 20 round. It's not much, but straight mags simply are aesthetically superior.

no reason not to use a quad stack, its easier to carry than a drum magazine yet holds more than a box magazine, and it cuts down on mag weight

I prefer 13, double the safe minimum plus 1. I'm a strong advocate for 5 shots but I'm no fool that thinks you should skirt with the bare minimum. Nobody has ever gotten in a shooting with ammo to spare and said "dang, I didn't need all these shots, I should carry less." Especially in this day and age when a subcompact with 7 shots minimum is smaller and lighter than a 5 shot 38. Doubly so in my case where a light is a necessity and there are no snubbies that have a light available for them afaik
