In most states at least, a valid self defense claim doesn't require that you were innocently minding your own business before someone attacked you out of the blue. It just requires that you didn't intentionally bait them into a confrontation that you reasonably should have expected would lead to a lethal force situation. You can't intentionally provoke a brawl then pull out a gun if you're losing, but you are allowed to talk to people, argue with them, and mock them, etc. Calling someone nigger might be different just because a prosecutor could argue that any reasonable person should know that hearing the word causes niggers to lose all emotional control and behave like enraged apes, so a physical confrontation is the expected result. But other than that word, courts usually expect verbal disputes to remain verbal and don't accept nigger-tier honor culture escalation bullshit.

That camera angle doesn't really do justice, the other camera angle from the bystander shows the hit a lot more clearly. Big guy didn't just shove the other dude in the chest or shoulder, he open handed him in the neck/throat so hard it knocked the dude off his feet. Unironically one of the clearest instances I've seen of somebody delivering a single blow in a fashion that would lead another reasonable individual to think the other person was trying to kill them and not "just" fight them like a lot of idiots think doesn't constitute a lethal threat. Furthermore he followed the guy partially in to the car he was retreating in to. Seems pretty clear cut to me even ignoring the weight difference.
