The taipei major announced that they had a special metro car for military and they could use it to deploy troops in the city where needed. He also said they stored 4tons of rice just in case lol. It was quite cool our phones stopped working and displayed the presidential alert and the sirens were screaming in the city. If you went out at that time you needed to pay a 3000USD fine. We also fired a lot of blanks, idk if that's super useful.

We also had a little accident with a patriot system because the driver took a too aggressive turn and touched a building. I saw some f16v and mirages2000 it was a cool day.

Maybe against tanks but I think our country mostly focuses on naval mines and interceptor tech. The few tanks that they could land would be destroyed by javelins. We have a lot of them. The thing is if they can land many tanks on the island it's already lost. The goal is that they'll all be food for the fishes as soon as they leave China

There most likely never will be any sort of open conflict. The CCP will simply pressure and lobby the ROC and its politicians into reunification with some sort of temporary special status that will expire decades before its agreed expiry date. This will require that the USA lose either interest in keeping the ROC under their wing or the soft power necessary to do so. The latter is gradually happening, so maybe in a couple decades we'll see PRC troops parading in an intact Taipei.

This is a fight over the spiritual and ideological destiny of Taiwan. The fact that the mainland claims their right over Taiwan due to both countries being Han is one of the reasons that Taiwan will fight, and no longer choose to see themselves as Han (ironic, since they have the better claim to true Chinese culture). There is no world in which a nation who believes their claim to ethnic destiny overwrites the self determination of the people they wish to integrate, will ever get their 'brothers' to integrate. Taiwan votes, and chooses consistently not to be a part of china, and the more this hurts the Chinese people's feelings, the father Taiwan drifts. All of the astroturfing in the world will not change anything, and will likely push the Taiwanese further away.


Make no mistake, this a war between the spirit of democracy and the first world and the shrieking primitive past. For all Chinese claims of development and modernity, the very fabric of their society is a cruel despotism more rooted in feudalism than any sort of even nineteenth century modernity. It's so pronounced, that mere existence of Taiwan is a threat to the Chinese regime, because it proves their backwardness and poverty is a choice. In time this will doom them. And considering that protests have started working in China for the first time in their history, the CCP is very, very afraid.
