All beats walking by miles. Charging should be done with truck that trail behind and comes to supply. Most of the bike has removable batteries so it's a lot more faster than cars that hid them under the floor if there are separate set of battery to cycle.

A SF guy i know tried out my razor when we were on a moose hunting camp out, he was amazed that you can get to within a few feet of a grouse before they notice you. After i mentioned that Russians were using them he thought about it and decided they have actual tactical value.

His thought was that if you were raiding a house in a urban environment (especially at night) you would load up your transport with them and then use them to go the last few miles to the target. They are small enough that you can carry a dozen in a small vehicle and cheap enough that when you were done you could just abandon them.

Electric vehicles like these are actually better for sustained independent operations but with a lot of caveats. Their ability to recharge does make them very viable for limited range recon and you can and many people do charge them with off the shelf solar panels. Performance isn't amazing but if you were an isolated outpost it'd be a great choice. For combat operations I still don't think it's quite there. That being said both sides would benefit from these because it gives cheap and easy to use ways to get a humans movement speed to above 20 and works in most any terrain you could want. A properly funded military might use these for interbase/rear transport. They might also use them in limited front line capabilities but they'd be tied to some form of base as they'd need some form of generator like you called out
