This is inaccurate.

The model of gun is so old you don't need a special license.

Not sure when I last saw one advertised to go on auction though. The Morphy's Spring one in 2022 was in an insanely good condition and unlikely to be auctioned off again any time soon. When it went it went for almost $200k. That's not exactly typical, but its condition was almost as new. I have seen others being sold for $125k or $90k or $50k ish, but I think if you find one in working condition without anything more than very minor missing and without significant wear and tear, I don't think $40k will cut it anymore.
