>>64001261 For me it was the accessibility of 37mm vs registering it as a DD. If I ever wanted to fire anti-personnel rounds out of the 37mm launcher I could still register it. Also, the ML37 uses the 40mm barrel blanks for their 37mm launchers, which means I would just have to get it rifled to be 40mm
As far as things I can actually shoot, it’s way easier to find 37mm rounds that I don’t have to individually register as DDs to shoot
>>64001406 The magazine release on the AUG sucks ass as you can fail to activate it if your thumb isn't dead center on it because the release goes up into the stock. Extending it further out or making it more similar to the Tavor release makes easier and faster to use
>>64001484 This is true for all DD's. Non-explosive ordnance for 20mm, 60mm, 81mm, etc. is not regulated. So you can buy a 60mm mortar with solid projectile training rounds and only the mortar needs the tax stamp.
>>64001484 The hornets nest would be the only reason I’d register mine cause those sound cool as fuck. Is it as fun as it sounds? Do you have a 40mm registered or one of the 37mm hornets nests
Another thing is even if I could get projectiles for my 40mm launcher, where the fuck would I shoot them? There are no ranges around me where I could shoot that stuff
>>64001505 Registered 40mm M203. I started with a LMT receiver, which is a Title 1 firearm (only needs a 4473 to purchase). Then I Form 1 registered it as a DD and bought the 40mm barrel. Mounted to an AR. I bought the hornet's nest canisters off gunbroker. They're reusable and you set them off with a large pistol primer. It's fun, and my indoor range lets me shoot it in there.
>>64001235 (OP) I have some 37mm ww2 flare pistols, I live on the coast so I rarely shoot them. Mostly I just have them because they're neat.

I'd love to buy a real M203, but I don't have anywhere to shoot them and I live in a non-DD state, which is a nonstarter.
>>64001783 >Ya bro please tell me how you totally need your 3 ARs and 5 striker fired pistols or your 10 shitrods for home defense or the boogaloo You don't belong on this board and you never will. Go back to Arfcom or the MTS circlejerk.
>>64002059 >A lot of LE agencies use 37mm, it's definitely not a toy All non-lethal also comes in 40mm. If they chose 37mm it's because they were neutered for political correctness. 37mm is cope because 40mm is scary, somehow
>>64002139 >Or the more likely answer is that 37mm is cheaper and accomplishes the same job The ammo? No. The launchers? Yes..because they're toys. As I said previously. Compare a Penn Arms 37mm non-lethal launcher to a Milkor M32, the difference is obvious.
>>64002162 That you acknowledged reading my entire post yet conveniently ignored the latter half tells me two things. That you're an autistic cocksucker, and that you've got a terminal case of contrarianism. >no you don't get it everyone else thinks these are cool but they're the gayest shit ever Get a fucking clue you retard.
Ah, yes the : "just as good for what I need it for argument".
Your argument was specifically about LE, implying non-lethal use cases. I'm not arguing that, because I'm fine with that assertion. Toy are just as good as non-toys to do toy things. You don't need a good rifled barrel for your beanbags.
>>64001836 So you like collecting overpriced and overbuilt toys too. There’s nothing wrong with it, but don’t try and tell me how practical your milsurp is
>>64002135 The majority of your guns and equipment are toys. Even if you had a 40mm launcher it’s still just a toy, except it’s registered with the government and you can shoot anti-personnel rounds out of it. Neither are practical. You’re just larping at the end of the day
>>64002294 >Neither are practical. Being able to yell "I cast facial diarrhea" and zip CS gas or powder at a poor fuck at 200fps is always practical. After the summer of love I'd argue it's the most practical.
I disagree, but you can also just get 37mm CS grenades.

>>64002387 Yeah I didn't mean to, I was just saying 40mm>37mm for actual functional use. There's an actual difference and there's a reason most police switched.
>>64002399 >40mm>37mm for actual functional use Agreed

>>64001836 I actually got pretty good prices on all of the milsurp. No one bid on the m1896 besides me and when the seller told me I needed an FFL I told him the serial number indicated it was an antique so he could ship it direct.

>>64002150 Worth getting the standalone stock for the ML37? It looks neat but I’ll have 2 homes for it with the AUG and MP5. I figure it might be nice to just have something for launcher so I don’t have to whip out a rifle on New Year’s Eve to shoot off some fireworks
Retard question, I've never really looking into launchers til recently. Saw that LMT has launcher tubes and receivers sold separately. Neither is considered a DD until I put them together right?
>>64002492 I quite like it, but fair notice I plan to have it lathed and rifled as a 40mm on a Form1.
If you just want a simple grip solution, do this. Airsoft LMT standalone frame. This thing is all milled aluminum and has taken several full power 40mm chalk rounds zero issue. Cheaper than the IWA stock by a lot (I paid like $75 or something on a sale)
What is the legality of adding an airsoft launcher? I have an fs2000 and I really want the FNGL-1 to go with it but FN doesn't sell it to civilians so it looks like my best hope is to get the airsoft version of it. (it'll obviously be to larp)
Theres an airsoft company that sells a 3D printed one they make that is made from fiber nylon that supposedly is impact resistant and suitable to temperatures up to 380F/194C
Unironically just get a 40mm unless you for some reason can't own a 37mm in your state. You gain pretty much nothing but going with a 37mm. I own two M203s and probably will get be getting a third at some point.
>>64006473 3D printed chalk rounds I designed myself. They can be printed cheaply and if the pusher survives, reused multiple times. All of the components, including the cases, can be printed. Basic PLA+ cases will last multiple firings. I have some from last year that are still around with like 20-30 uses each.
>>64006516 No, I do not at this time. I keep them amongst my friends at the moment since we're kind of r&d it between ourselves and there's still stuff we want to iron out. It's also too much liability. I've given the files out to one stranger before with very specific instructions for printing and they reported back with all kinds of weird issues (which would be easily preventable if they had simply read my instructions), so I don't want the headache that comes with distributing the files.
I don't do any 37mm variants as I don't have any 37mm launchers, never saw the point when I can just outright own a 40mm.
