And minefields aren't something as dumb as people thinks, their fuzes are among the most updated and wicked designs made to defeat any simple countermeasure against mines.

And detecting mines is hard too, they have as little metal as possible, in general are buried and you can't jump 500 m of a densely populated minefield.
