Not really. Before you couldve argued firepower but you don't have a Glock with a switch so you're always outgunned in 2020 anyway. Might as well go with a classic wheelgat.

A gun is a gun, primarily, a .38 snub is generally adequate (if you practice), though automatics are mostly superior.

Lack of quality control from every major manufacturer. Outside of the super high end stuff, it's not uncommon to see serious issues with new revos straight out of the box from all the big names now. If I was going to carry a new revolver, I'd unironically buy a Kimber K6S, who have drastically improved their QC over the years while pretty much everyone else is falling off.

Exactly. Being white and not living in the ghetto is literally all that matters. If you could not interact with people that commit 80% of crime by moving to an area where they didn't live and don't go. Hence the phrase, ivory tower.

Don't act surprised when laws get shittier because people like you ran away from the frontlines.

And then you give up your guns. At least you're one with nature, and ticks.

No excuse not to own a J Frame, especially a vintage one. There's loads of nice boomer j frames out there begging for new homes.

If you really want to buy new the 640 is basically perfection for a low maintenance magnum-J that can run .357. 38spl is grossly overpriced right now and sometimes it makes more sense to just buy .357 self defense loads, options are always nice

Revolverfags, if I want to carry a revolver, but I have no experience with revolvers

Should I carry a j-frame snubby, or a k-frame with a 2.5-3 inch barrel? If j-frame, .38 or .22? My main concern with a j-frame in .38 is shootability, which is why I am considering something like shorter barreled k-frame, but thats getting pretty big so it limits carry options.

You're retarded. My views are represented because I reproduced and had kids that share my worldview. I live near people that support my beliefs and are politically active.

Wasting your time trying to convince gang bangers and illegals in the city to want a 50s suburb style life won't ever happen. It's as foreign to them as fucking a goat and eating cowshit is to non Indians.

Wake tf up. Nothing matters but your own people.

I live in a suburban shithole and the only places to physically buy rimmed ammo in a 25 mile radius are three gunstores and cabelas

I only save like 9cpr actually buying 38spl target ammo vs .357, and I don't want to run .38s through my Python or Model 66, the shits gay and boring.

With defensive ammo (hornandy FTX) the difference between both calibers is almost nill, and I don't want to buy .38spl defensive loads for the same reason as above

A K frame is gonna be harder to carry but easier to shoot and visa versa for a J frame. But it's not that big of a difference unless you want to pocket carry. I sometimes carry my 4" M10 IWB, it's not too bad but I wish it had a shorter barrel more than a smaller cylinder. I still want a J frame for pocket carry. J frames aren't that bad with proper grips (something that fills space behind the trigger guard).

I recommend doing what I did: buy a police trade in K frame and see if you like revolvers.

There are some "in-betweeners" from other manufacturers. Ruger SP101, Kimber K6s, Colt Cobra/Viper, in ascending order of size. Check some of those out if J-Frames are too small but K-Frames are too big.

Honestly if yours have one, like it and practice with it regularly then your better off than everyone who bought the fantastic plastic larperator 5000 with tactical accessories tactically attached.. who then shot it once and put it in their nightstand drawer…. Familiarity and regular practice with your firearm is the biggest thing beyond dumb luck that’s gonna affect the outcome of a self defense situation…. Everything else is just roleplay with Rambo..

Only reason in New York is when you use a revolver in a self defense shooting, the cops and courts are gonna look at it as a fudd gun and not rake you through the system for daring to actually use it.

Yep. If you can pass a 5x5 with it, go for it. Might be concerned about multiple attackers, though.

I saw these full metal air revolvers in the store and I've been wondering, and this is going to sound absolutely unhinged, but
>fully functional double-action revolver
>made entirely out of sturdy metal
>it uses CO2 to fire 4.5mm
What is actually preventing someone (besides the law, and common sense) from just removing the CO2 internals and replacing the fake hammer with an ACTUAL hammer and shooting rimfire with it? This seems like the easiest and most obvious illegal gun ever

The odds of being attacked by a group are low…. The odds of op actually practicing and keeping skills current with a revolver are astronomically low… therefore the best defense is for them to do it since the odds of a group of people attacking an armed, practiced revolver owner must collectively be insane….
