Point is you need to wait for them to come be it drone, missile or plane.
The tiger stays near and is ready to demolish a building at a moment notice

just use thermobaric rockets or standard howitzer/rocket artillery

real artillery is both more flexible and more survivable while being about the same cost, less if you include the cost of having two separate systems doing the same job

>During this action, one of the Sturmtigers in Sturmmörserkompanie 1001 near Düren and Euskirchen allegedly hit a group of stationary Sherman tanks in a village with a 380mm round, resulting in nearly all the Shermans being put out of action, and their crews killed or wounded. This is the only tank-on-tank combat a Sturmtiger is ever recorded engaging in
You need more time and rounds to completely destroy a building with regular artillery, you set up a sturm tiger back in like 5kms, give it modern tech and infantry on the ground can just paint the building they want destroyed and in less than an instant its not there anymore.

Its longer than that, around 15 minutes and the crane is used for reloading the vehicle itself not the gun. It has an internal hoist at it's roof to assist in moving the 350kg shells.

It has a lot of explosives, but the shell is not strong enough to penetrate thick concrete.
Even a large HEAT warhead would only create a small hole deep inside.

Anon you know the sturmtiger rounds are so big they need to use an attached crane and pulley system to move them? And an auto loader for 240mm would be massive.

lmao, israel does this literally everyday as a matter of "policy"
israel will drop entire buildings on the heads of literally hundreds of Palestinians, if it means killing even ONE "militant"

they have an AI called "lavender" that was programmed to accept 15-20 civilians deaths per theoretical militant killed

The Sturmtiger's projectile only carried 270lbs of explosives out to 6km. The unitary warhead version of the GMLRS carries 200lbs out to 92km with better accuracy than the Sturmtiger had at 6km. And a single vehicle can fire 6-12 GMLRS in as many seconds and be reloaded in 2-4 minutes, all while needing only 40% as many crewmen.
>b-but cost!
If your nation can't afford a $150,000 precision guided munition, then maybe 21st-century warfare just isn't for you.
