Whether that would be enough to break the will of the Taiwanese main island or not however is debatable, they have after all spent the past couple of decades digging tunnels in the mountains which is like 90% of Taiwan's geography.
Also Taiwan engaging in an unprovoked first strike attack of the Gorges Dam would most certainly make them lose any and all claims to the rest of 'China' as a whole, of course that's assuming the modern Taiwanese Zoomer even gives a fuck about that anymore since they seem plenty happy with basically being China-2 minus Communism and corporate dystopian-ism. Re-unification under the non Commie government is a delusional Boomer fantasy at this point unless the CCP collapses from internal problems.
However if the CCP attacks first unprovoked then Taiwan with American aid proceeding to flood half of the Mainland is a perfectly fair 'fuck around and find out' response.
