Umm no you shouldn't OP. If you wanna cheap rifle caliber pistol then just buy a PSA parts kit with a 10.5" barrel and a ton of 20 round magazines to keep it more slimline when carrying in a bag or under a coat. Then you don't need to go through the whole SBR'ing process either since an AR receiver by itself is just legally 'other' or 'pistol' if it's a complete set with a brace pre-installed.

Honestly that would just be a huge waste of a money on top of that too. If you wanna fatten up an ATF agents wallet at least just get a suppressor tax stamp instead.

Also Obrez's were made out of necessity, absutely no one actually enjoyed using those things and the moment they were handed a real good enough handgun even a Negant revolver they immediately took that instead.

Only justifiable if you have a mosin with a sporterized stock that is already cut, and a barrel that is poor or unsalvageable. Modification to the receiver or other parts that are fine is unacceptable
