I have lost interest in collecting/shooting firearms at this point. I've either sold almost all my guns or gifted them to family. The only guns I still own at this point are a mossberg 500 for home defense and an original lcp that I sometimes carry. This hobby has been ruined, especially post covid. There are just too many retards, consoomers, boomers, and fags.
>every new handgun has to be compared to a competition pistol and looks like a gaming pc/cross fit equipment
>everything is min maxxing/tactitard LARP (good luck finding a basic gun you want at a lgs, you can't.)
>redditors literally saying that a glock 43x is not enough for carry because it only holds 10 rounds and that you need a reload, optic, and wml
>constant shilling of bad products by guntubers and other industry whores
>milsurp has pretty much dried up
>boomers hoarding lots of good older guns
>2020s gun culture somehow simultaneously way too casual about firearms but also neurotic and gay

Quality control from "reputable" manufacturers is absolutely in the gutter.
>bought maybe one or two guns since covid that haven't had something wrong with them due to poor manufacturing
>constant adding of "new" features like optics cuts or comps, but producing less and less fundamentally solid or interesting guns
>everything is strikerslop because it is cheapest to produce
>companies like PSA, Ruger (for their semi auto pistols at least), and all turkshit have created a race to the bottom by being shilled as "JuSt aS gOoD"
>if an interesting gun/version of a gun is theoretically in production good like finding it because hardly any are made and the lgs certainly doesn't have it
>this is likely never going to improve
>no one will admit this because they are emotionally invested/need to validate their purchase
The industry realized during covid that they can just churn out poorly made guns/slop because most newfags don't actually shoot and won't notice or care.

a) that's a "social media" problem, not a "gun hobby" problem. Get off the phone, zombie.

b) gun companies have been cutting corners since the inter-war period. Modern guns being slop is nothing new. Buy older guns if you want better fit and finish.

yep.

if you want something, get them to order it. its that simple.

Good luck I guess. The thing with guns is changes are glacial, so you could leave the scene for a decade and miss nothing significant.

Yes it is a social media problem. The issue is social media dictates what people do irl. Its called hyper-reality. I see it all the time in my social circles.

All of those reasons you list shouldn't have any bearing on your desire to shoot guns you already have. What effect do the actions of industry or boomers have on the enjoyment you derive from shooting?

And really, what was the point of you acquiring guns in the first place? Buying / hoarding / showing off your hoard / comparing against people you'll never talk to or meet IRL, was that the real hobby? It reads like you're a consoomer who is salty the market is different than it was 10-20 yes ago, and you are upset by other people's tastes and preferences.

Other people's activities are irrelevant to OP's complaints. If OP is tired of hearing guntoobers min-max everything then he can simply go to the range and shoot instead of watching guntoobers.

It's shocking how many people have crippling social anxiety and can't do that. But yeah, your point is 100% valid. And even if your LGS won't order it for you then go find it online. I've managed to track down examples of rare guns where only 50 were made....150 years ago. Modern guns are easily found with internet searches.

Used to go shooting quite a bit with my friends but everyone is older now and it is harder to get together in general. Ammo is still more expensive than it was and I have other financial priorities. I never really owned that many guns beyond some pistols, an ak, AR, and shotgun. I guess I am salty that the market changed before I was in the position to enjoy it. Mainly I wish I was old enough/could afford guns 20 years ago but oh well.

t. very late millenial/old zoomer depending on who you ask.

The community no longer being fun to be around is a pretty good reason to quit a hobby.

I kind of stopped shooting because indoor ranges are fucking gay. Used to pay $200/mo for the one five minutes from my house, but it was also kind of lame with the range jannies. Not to mention it costs a dickload ever since Sandy Vag and just never stopped. If I shoot on my own land, the cops come after a mag or two because neighbors are too close.

Shooting is a hassle.

That's pretty much every hobby now with the death of the internet. This board is dead, the old forums are dead, reddit is at least 50% bots and the rest is just "look at my flavor of the week gun" posts. I wouldn't say the problem is that the gun community sucks now, there just isn't one anymore.

Sounds like you bought into an expensive hobby just to gloat on social media. I bet you're probably a "car guy" and former gym rat too. Get off social media and quit trying to play pretend the man you want to be and just be that man. Just having a "Gucci" AR or blacked out mustang with a shitty borla exhaust won't make people think you're cool or make girls want to fuck you. >you won't admit this because you're emotionally invested/need to validate your own existence to other people and a fag

this prompt has been around for over a decade
earliest I saw it was in 2014 where some anon starts a thread and says he's getting rid of all his guns except his mossberg and lcp to demoralize the board
this isn't the first time you made this type of thread is it fag?
