Decent for officers if you don't go SWO but still gotta share a room with 3 other dudes even as an O when you're underway. Also lot of weird shitheads that are different than other branches shitheads. Go USCG if you want to sail, go USAF if you want a good life, go USMC if you want to he treated like shit. Navy doesn't excel in any category.
Also Navy aviators think they're hot shots when they're mostly people who could get the GPA for the Air Force and SEALs join to grow beards and write a book

Long story short, I am an Australian (white) and I want to join the US military. Australia is a commie police state and I fully believe in the American way of life. I could go the super slow route of immigrating as a civilian but I would much prefer to just immediately join the military. I score very well on tests and I'm physically fit, so I know I can do well, it's just the recruitment process. I've talked to recruiters on the phone/email and they get weird with me when the greencard topic comes up. I know for a fact they have backchannels for illegal mexicans who have no documents and barely speak english. Do I need to be there in person for that to happen? My preference is a job in the airforce on bomber maintenance or something but really I'm happy to be a grunt in the marines if it means I get to be an American. Any advice is appreciated.

Also I should add, my friend who just went through navy bootcamp to be a nuke (lol) and is now being medically separated cause he falls asleep, saw people being given their documents literally at day 1 of bootcamp, but his career counsellor got all shady when he asked about it and my situation, told him talk to a recruiter because they can 'do things'.

Sign up for the classes first year first semester as an extracurricular. Keep in good shape, do well in school. If you're a junior it's too late.

Have a degree, preferably above a 3.5 GPA and some references, talk to officer recruiter.

Air Force is a shitshow to commission without ROTC, wouldn't recommend it for Army either because you have to do boot camp before Officer Candidate School for them and it'll eat up your time playing fuck fuck games when you're likely in your mid to late 20's. Navy and Marines get a lot of guys through OCS and the Navy even locks some jobs to OCS like Supply where Academy dudes can't apply for it. Navy has a kickass program if you're a junior in a college with no NROTC program where you "enlist" as an E-4 and get paid E-4 pay with BAS and BAH and it counts towards time in service but all you do is your college work and a few PT tests and drug tests a year in exchange and when you graduate they ship you out to OCS so you don't got to play the waiting game for orders like most OCS candidates. Downside of course is you need 60 credits to apply and to go to a school without NROTC or crosstowns (which aren't super uncommon but it may lock you out of the program if your school doesn't qualify)

Why doesn't the US try and absorb Canada?
