Whats the point of firing TBMs (and drones these days) at enemy populated areas? Strike vs. supply dump/airfield/HQ of some kind I get, but striking cities seems an utter waste of military resources. Didnt work for Nazis in ww2 (London), not working now. All you may get is morale boost for the enemy: dead civillians = more men join the enemy armes forces.

What is this shit?

It worked for Israel vs. Hezbollah. Not working for Israel vs. Hamas. Seems to be more about the nature of your enemy.

because factories used to supply the war effort are located in cities. turns out factories need people and infrastructure and cities are the best place for that. who knew?

Yet somehow russians confuse hospitals, grocery stores, and apartment buildings for factories. Maybe if they actually tried hitting the factories it would be more effective.
>no you don't understand it's total war it's justified
The aggressor doesn't get to make that claim.

If you're going to target civilian infrastructure, wouldn't it be better to attack water supplies and agricultural fields since those are things their military uses too?

yes and that's why they don't target them, it's collateral damage when weapons get shot down or malfunction
if russia wanted to inflict mass casualties all they had to do is collapse a few of those 200-flat commie blocks at 2AM, easy few thousand casualties, several times more than the number killed in air raids so far

Even though they have intentionally done this many times, and manage to hit these things often accidentally even when it isnโ€™t the target, because russians have bad CEP and bad intel.

it comes from the zegroid so called "prison culture" mentality that has rotted its way through the entire hierarchy. For in a low IQ gopnik so called "brain"
>bombing=fear=respect=submission
so in the cockroach mind it becomes all about terrorizing civilians into submission and forcing ukraine government to surrender. That plus the schadenfreude they get from deliberately bombing children hospitals and killing 12 month olds visiting their grannies

In reality you are right, all this drone spam achieves is piss people off even more to fuck ziggers up. They would be better off only using the drones in frontline areas and deliberately avoiding hitting anything in the rear. So war fatigue can take over. Their intelligence and situational awareness is dogshit anyway so they physically dont know where all of the stockpiles and factory installations are even if they wanted to bomb them deliberately

>Whats the point of firing TBMs (and drones these days) at enemy populated areas?
Because:
- terror attacks unironically work, even if not as good as they think they do;
- pajeet-like "not my problem" attitude of the RU army, targeting is often done based on retarded old soviet maps (a ton of strikes happen to locations where there were soviet military or industrial objects like 40 years ago) and even more retarded dick sniffing intelligence;
- chink-level precision, because most of the missiles were inherently developed to either launch nukes or be launched in volleys, so individual precision was never a factor;

Please tell that to the maternity hospital in the Kyiv region which was specifically located outside the city and fuck up in the early days of the invasion.

Bruh, a ton of russian spy satellites used film shit even around ~2010, imagine how bad the image quality is even when they've migrated to digital shit.

they'd only be firing them at targets worth hitting 99% of the time. stuff before iskander wasn't all that accurate (tockha-u), and the nork kn-23s had some accuracy issues.

in cities, there's lots of strategic targets, because they house industrial zones, airports and similar.

At this point I highly doubt Ukraine is going to throw in the towel because they keep getting terror bombed, especially since the openly stated goal of russia to erase them.

I suspect that the Russians are (generally) not just doing terror bombings but are instead aiming at something. However, their equipment is shit and they are retards so they keep missing and are thus instead doing terror bombings which are counter-productive.

Terror bombings can be effective but you have to level whole cities for them to work. And it's not the terror that works is the social disruption of having having a hub of human activity disrupted.

It's not about the country per se, but how it affects people, slowly eroding things. E.g. a guy who has to spend every other night in the shelter and then is very tired and thus works worse and losses the contract of his remote work with a murrican company (true story). Or parents who are scared shitless for their kid and ship him away abroad, not even because of conscription (since a ton of those kids are nowhere near close to 25), but just because there's always a chance that yet another drone or missile fucks up things. Or how this affects civilian economy and ability of people to work, earn a living and support each other.

When your accuracy is ~100 meters, cities are better targets than anything with even a perfunctory level of hardening against attack.

Plus it forces the enemy to disperse air defense assets.

Itโ€™s only mostly pointless, not completely pointless.
