Europe was happy to let America stare down the bear for 70+ years while they rebuilt after Uncle Adolf razed their countryside.
Think of all the wars America has had to fight and how many of them were directly the fault of Europe.

>He doesn't know
The EU used the US to bait Russia into invading Ukraine. Now that the US has depleted most of Russia's weapons the time is getting closer for Europe to absorb Russia as a member state

what's the problem here?

Ukraine gets aid from euros
US concentrates on Pacific (and Israel?)
euros can stay "neutral" towards China a profit

the longer Russia is occupied in Ukraine
the less bullshit they do at EU borders
so that's a win-win (well except for Russia, but no one cares about them)

also my Rheinmetall stock has almost 20x
glad I invested in 2020

>the time is getting closer for Europe to absorb Russia as a member state
that would've been cool in the 2000s (where some economist actually proposed this)

now Russia is a poor shithole
with doomsday demographics
it's unironically over for them

the only regions worth absorbing would be Moscow, St. Petersburg and some industrial regions around Moscow
and even in the cities, not the suburbs
maybe some remote parts for Resources - but without the Russians living there

Russian vassal state with cheap labor, admitting a defeated, castrated Russia into the Eurosphere.

Don't they already have a severe labor shortage there despite struggling to produce anything?
Sounds like many of their enterprises can only function thanks to laborers from Central Asia.

>Russian vassal state with cheap labor
there isn't that much cheap labor to distribute
most of modern productions require a somewhat skilled workforce
that's why China still dominates, even though they're a middle income country

>admitting a defeated, castrated Russia into the Eurosphere
again, for what ends?
for resource? just give EU companies exclusive resource access.
for workforce? the only cheap labor needed a lot in Europe is local (craftsman, care work etc.)
for demographics? Russia is way more fucked than any EU country.

and of course the political aspect
why let a brainwashed population vote for or block EU laws? They'll just vote for retarded shit

>Don't they already have a severe labor shortage there despite struggling to produce anything?
that's entirely self inflicted and politically caused
they have the earliest Pension age in Europe
and many people on government support that could work
plus all the sick people that could work if treated, alcohol related work absence alone is staggeringly high

>Sounds like many of their enterprises can only function thanks to laborers from Central Asia.
because it's easier / cheaper than to fix your domestic problems

pensioners are one of Putins largest supporter groups
and he was very careful in the past not to enrage them

cutting pensions or increasing the pension age massively is one of the few things that would instantly ack Putin

>incorporate Ukraine as a member state in x years
>becomes the biggest agricultural block
>reach 500 million people
>gain one of the most veteran armies around
>russia now has to worry about EU troops from the polar circle to the black sea
the moment that russia crossed the Ukrainian border in force they made their destruction the primary geo-strategic goal for Europe

They tried to raise that closer to the usual Euro age at some point, but it resulted in such fierce protests that the regime actually backed down. That doesn't happen a lot.
Though Russians tend to die before the usual Euro retirement age thanks to all that vodka and general misery, so maybe they did a bit of math and figured the government just didn't want to pay them anything.

they aren't, they earn less than russians

china is still relevant because of inertia and because the alternatives companies are currently exploring(india, laos, bangladesh, etc) are even worse

>Though Russians tend to die before the usual Euro retirement
it's not the direct pension expenses that are the problem
before the war they swam in Gas / Oil money from Europe

the problem is the reduced work force
if you send your most experienced workers into retirement with 55, ~11y before the avg euro, that's gonna severely limit you workforce
~1/4 of years worked less than in the EU

>but it resulted in such fierce protests
yeah and that's why Russia is doomed
even before sending a significant portion of your young men into the meat grinder

>they earn less than russians
China and Russia will have basically the same nominal GDP per capita in 2025

>china is still relevant because of inertia
no
they're relevant because of a relatively well educated workforce
and having literally imaginable supply chain domestically
which makes producing a lot of stuff really efficient, thus cheap or even possible in the first place

EU will maybe admit Ukraine and very maybe Belarus when the potato man goes.

This is just the first time Europe has to flex its economic muscle, and restarting the MIC takes some time so we buy from the US what we cannot make ourselves yet.
Russia was really stupid to poke this sleeping giant into action.
