Isn't it really bad on a national level or whatever when you can't even make a sidearm that doesn't randomly go off?

This seems like late soviet tier corruption but maybe I am making a big deal over nothing.

wasn't this already known 3 years ago?
I'm pretty sure I heard "p320 misfire" a couple years ago.
so why is this on the news now?

that was slightly different. you could hit the back of the slide with enough force that the mass of the trigger would move back and set the gun off, conversely if you dropped it at a particular angle the same thing could happen.
so they 'fixed' the trigger by making it much lighter iirc but nooooooooow it turns out the gun can go off in holster sitting on a desk.

I genuinely have no idea what's wrong with the P320s and if you aren't a gunsmith or an engineer you don't either. I can say this, every other serious duty pistol on the market either has an extremely heavy double-action trigger pull, or uses a manual safety that *blocks the sear*

The manual "safety" on the M17/M18 just blocks movement of the trigger, not the sear. Carrying a P320 is like carrying a 1911 condition 0 with the grip safety taped down. Just no thought at all about how firearms are used in the real world.

P365 has a more traditional design for it's internals + P365 holsters generally have tighter protection of the trigger guard + are carried covered which means less opportunity for shit to get into the trigger guard.

Neither of these things are true of the other common duty pistols (Glock, M&P, FNH I suppose). You are talking out of your ass about shit you barely understand.

You've chosen ignorance and attributed it to everyone else. The FBI already solved the mystery. It's publically available and has been the talk of youtube for like 2-3 weeks, and all it did was confirm what people have speculated for YEARS, which is that MIM parts had poor tolerance stacking and wiggling the slide/frame which can occur in the holster when moving or removing the holster the 320 drops the sear and fires. Just because you have your head in the sand doesn't mean it's a mystery. You're just choosing to be ignorant, maliciously. And someone died because of people like you playing defense for a billion dollar company that hates us. https://youtu.be/LfnhTYeVHHE?si=LwbTdmOPvjJFc52K

Yeah, SIG is just pure corruption. All of their contracts have been won by bribery, which is par for the course for the MIC but at least when Lockheed or Raytheon does it, they actually provide cool and well functioning equipment. When SIG does it, they provide gay looking dogshit that doesn't work.

Because the P365 has nothing to do with the MHS trials or the subsequent contract signed for the M17 and M18 service pistol. When Beretta realized the design of the M9 could be improved by updating the locking block, they tried to get the military to accept the improved design. That updated locking block wasn't in the TDP, so the military continued to use the older inferior design for the entire service life of the M9. That was just for an updated part, not an entirely different pistol.

But that isn't what the fbi report says you illiterate ape. The conclusion found that while it was possible to create a situation in which a UD could occur and thus it should be further investigated and taken in mind for future requisitions, they couldn't find evidence of their simulations actually reflecting the incident. Read the fucking conclusion

It's the corruption involved in the procurement process which is very concerning. But then again the same thing happened with the M14 but more out of national pride than pure pentagon corruption, so it's not the first screw up

you didn't read the report, and didn't bother to read what I actually said. The P320 is a pistol designed by engineers to work in flawless laboratory conditions, not in the real world. There is a reason why every other duty pistol on the market either has a safety which *blocks the sear* or is double action (every other striker fired duty pistol is double action despite what the marketing hype says).

They are not "double action" triggers. Most of these are fully pre-cocked strikers. If you had handled an actual double action pistol you would not compare the two. Again, talking out of your ass.
