I want to get a gun semi-quick but don't want to wait super long and go through some long process. I have heard New Hampshire has the most relaxed gun laws in the US, and I live close to there, are there any gun shows where I could buy a small piece for myself there soon?

Oh no no no, it's nothing like that, don't worry Anon, I will never kms. It is more so I have a psycho stalker that I already had to change my locks for. And police are no help in situations like this until it is too late.

Also, I go mountaineering a lot and will go late at night in the Green and White Mountains of Vermont and New Hampshire and want protection from possible psychos on the trails I could run into, especially since there is apparently a new Serial Killer in New England I have been seeing in the news.

You can't be sold a handgun in New Hampshire if you're not a resident. If you buy and use a gun that's banned in MA you'll be doublefucked due to not having a loicense and going around their AWB. Enjoy

That's not how it works, you're still bound by the laws of your own state when you buy a gun in another state. I'm assuming by "long process" you mean whatever your shithole requires in terms of permits since a background check is near instant.

The green & white mountains are like some of the safest fucking hiking anywhere. Not that there is anything wrong with wanting a gun regardless but stop being a fag jumping at shadows and fake news.

nta but is that really true? like pretty sure a vermonter (who don't have any licenses at all) can buy an hg no problem, though also think they are only supposed to bring back cucked mags nowadays but thats not a ffl issue. unless nh has some special state law they can sell guns to non-residents but its based on same law as where that person is from. granted some ffls might not want the hassle

Fuck is that true? I live in Massachusetts and I am pretty sure they have strict ass laws, and I am probably moving to upstate New York soon and that won't be much better I imagine.

True, but I wanted to got New Mexico and Arizona soon and I don't imagine they are as safe.

As far as I'm aware that's a federal law, because I've been told that for the past twenty years in WY, NM, NE, UT, and KS when I lived in CO, and I've heard it again in SC and TN now that I live in NC. You can have the handgun transferred to an in state FFL but the out of state FFL can't transfer to it to an out of state resident. Doesn't apply to long guns IIRC.

You must be a resident of the state to buy a handgun from a dealer of that state that's federal law.
For private sales (if allowed by the state), the seller should check to see if you are a resident of the state, but this is almost never done.

Yep. If you live in an unfree state it impacts you heavily.

How close to VT in upstate NY? It may not be possible but if you can be a vt resident instead and take the ferry across like a lot of folks you'd be in way better a position then NY. Sucks such a beautiful remote area is dragged along by the political gravity of NYC but it is what it is. Of course upstate ny is big and if you're not close to champlain that won't work at all.

More like Albany-NYC area, between the two, but good to know about the resident thing. I might look into becoming a NH resident through a friend's address if possible to help in my situation though. I mean I have lived there before for months, just not officially on papers. I know the process to change residency too.

Just know that all states have residency requirements and most are at least somewhat strict about it being for real not just on paper. IIRC NH wants you to demonstrate that you intend it to be your permanent home though I don't think there is any minimum time spent there. VT I think requires you to be residing in the state >6 months per year (this doesn't mean physical time spent there per se though). I think Maine is between the two. Also know that if you live and work in multiple states your taxes can be mildly more complicated though I don't think it's a huge deal for most of us.

idk how it is up there but just go to a gun shop and explain your stalker situation and they'll help you get a decent defense/carry gun and direct you through the basic manual of arms and best way to carry/store it, aswell as get you good defensive ammunition
if you're over 21 you'll get it the same day
if you're 18 you'll get it within a few days
if you think you're imminent danger then stay at a family/friend's place until you can pick up the gun
