This is all because SIG under their current CEO aggressively pursued military contracts rather than tried to make a safe product. Pure 'put out now fix later' approach that has a 50/50 chance of working. They should have developed a striker fired gun much earlier rather than just shoving a system onto the P250, they had a while too since before the pistol trial the US military had a previous trial that got canceled.
