It feels, I don't know how to say it, but kind of "cheap" in a way that's hard to nail down. It's not, and mine has been perfectly reliable, even with hand loads, but it's just weird feeling in the hand. It's also fuckhuge and holds 15+1 rounds of .45. If you can't solve a problem with that much .45, then you probably can't solve that problem with a handgun, period. Triggers vary gun to gun. I have owned two, a Duty years ago when they first came out, and a Tactical more recently, and the Duty had by far the better trigger for some reason. I've heard from others that it's a gun to gun thing though, and not Duty vs Tactical related. Looks better in black, but you know that.

Buy an entry-level single stack 1911 first. Buy the FNX later and convert it to 460 Rowland. Then buy a better 1911 and convert it to 460 Rowland too because 1911s feel much better in the hand and have better triggers.

I was just thinking the same thing. the only thing that I can come up with is that there's so much porting on the top that it would actually make the gun recoil downward like the halbek device on FALs reportedly does, but if that's the case, why not just cut the ports on the top smaller? truly a bizarre design decision.

That compensator is not just for recoil mitigation. It's primarily there to delay the unlocking of the barrel so the slide won't overrun the magazine spring. Some 460 Rowland Glock conversions attach a huge weight to the rear of the slide as a replacement for the rear sight to achieve the same effect.

Muzzle brakes and comps don't do shit on normal guns anyways. USPSA/IPSC guys have to run pissin hawt loads just to get enough gas velocity to work their comps. The standard pressure shit running out of your bedazzled add-on isn't doing shit.
>but I *feel* like
You're beholden to the placebo and a retard. It isn't doing dick.
>but uspsa guys run massive comps that need all that gas to work, my little barrel-phimosis device doesn't need that to work
Yes it does. All you're doing is making the gun louder and then assuming it's working. You're a chimp hooting and jumping over loud noises. Barely even human in your animalistic idiocy.

I like mine. The trigger is shit and it isn't as accurate as I'd like with my range blaster reloads but it shoots straight enough with good ammo. My main complaint is that it's fucking huge, which isn't really a problem but it's weird because it's so light in relation to its size. It's a gun with kind of a cool back story too.

I've never had this happen with any polymer framed gun. Literally nobody else on earth has either. You clearly don't own guns, or are too busy licking lead residue to ever shoot them.

FN had never heard of it happening either, admitted it was a material flaw of that one gun, and him to send them the gun so they could analyze it and figure out wtf even went wrong. Go figure retard, gun companies know deserts exist and design their guns to work in them.

I have the FNP-45 Tactical which preceded it. FNH said a massive fuck you to us and released the FNX-45. The FNP-45 has a problem with dimples on the barrel on a groove above the FP stamp on the barrel, the magazines are undersized and dont feed ammo over 1.260" COAL (1.275 is max COAL according to SAAMI, Winchester White Box is even longer), and the trigger to trigger bar pin is prone to walking out. Rather than fix these issues under warranty, they released a new gun and told us all to spend $1k+ again. Say what you want about the Sig P320 but this is even worse.

other than that i like how fuckhuge they are, i have the large curved backstrap and a hogue grip on it, and a 40 Super conversion

Look, man, gun companies compete for military, LEO, and security company contracts. They don't compete for consumers because they know people love to consume. My country has more than half of the guns in circulation in the world despite it's population only being 4.22% of the world's population. The people who've bought guns will buy more guns, and companies know that.

The gas coming out of the barrel forces its way through the holes in the compensator, which pushes the barrel forward. I assume the ports that are angled to the lower left and right are there because it's a Browning action with a tilting barrel.

This. A double stack fuckhueg 45acp is meh, if you get something big make sure it's overpowered like 460 rollin. Either go full retard bear blaster or cope with 9mm.

Unless it's a round smaller than 9mm. Then stoppan powah is absolutely real and nothing smaller than .356 has any.

I am a big fan of .30 pooper carry and .32 caliber in general so you can imagine my dismay when 9mmcels play infinite regress of excuses for their favorite caliber while pretending its not really about favorites and theyre totally not poor

I didn't know that. I'd actually bought a FNP tactical, sold it off to a friend, realized that I missed it, and then when I went to buy a replacement I was pissed off that they were no longer available and I had to settle for a FNX tactical. Luck's a fickle thing. You win some, you lose some. I won this one. Don't ask me about the ones that I lost.
