>>64059930Night matches are inherently more obtuse to deal with. Competitors and RSOs require additional precautions (namely because it's fucking hard to perform safety procedures at anything resembling a fast pace due to environmentals), lights need to be set up (and possibly turned off for fairness), courses of fire have to be made with NV/thermal in mind (and the limitations of such), and the already small pool of PRS shooters is now divided into an even smaller pool of shooters who have clip-on devices and WANT to shoot said match, not to mention finding RSOs who are experienced under NODs to RSO, and pay them to do so, and that's before finding a range who will host such an event at night.
It's a logistical PITA for maybe the 300 people in CONUS, 30 of which are willing to travel to do, 3 of which will probably actually show up. I can count on one hand the number of people I know with clip on devices, both thermal and NV.
>>64059053Very cool anon. I'm lucky enough to have access to a nice mile range with no RSO. I recently drove to the Clinton House Plantation- they have a mile range as well but it's very homosexual (requires signup in advance, no projectiles over 4000fps, 1 round per second, no fiddycal, no gigamagnums) which is understandable but still retarded. I'm moving back west, so I'll be able to enjoy the \dry\ heat and wide open public shooting land.
>>64058794Good choice anon, sounds like you'll have a fun time.
>>64059559In reality, it's a roundabout way to keep "rowdy youths" and their ARPs and dracos out of the range. Generally people with a good credit score can think and breathe at the same time, and are much more likely to be good people. I really enjoy the precision rifle community because it generally attracts a higher level of individual, much like competition shooters. People who are more knowledgeable and proficient in their skillset also tend to be more successful in life, though they can come off as snooty to the layman.
