Game wardens/conservation officers aren't a joke. They're pretty hardcore for LEOs when they need to be. Also, I've never met a single asshole game warden. They all seem to love doing outdoor stuff and only go hardass on people intentionally breaking the law. They're usually on their own in the middle of nowhere, and almost everyone they have to check or apprehend is armed. As such, they tend to carry a lot of ammo on them: 10-12 Glock mags isn't uncommon. People in urban areas sometimes do stupid things like throwing rocks in front of the train engines as they pass.
